Liam Proven: Love it. It's a themed old-Polish restaurant, with an all-pierogi menu, plus some sides and desserts. Great vegetarian selection, good beer choice. Outside seating. A big win.

Liam Proven: The best-restored building I saw in the city. There's a brewery, conference centre, coffee shop with good ice cream -- but there's little to do here.
Liam Proven: Nice wooded park with a well-restored chateau in the middle -- which is now a brewery, but with only 1 beer. Other buildings are derelict.
Liam Proven: It's a bit fake - it's really a 200-year-old stately home, then sanatorium, now hotel, rather than an ancient monument. But it's very pretty, although undergoing extensive work when I visited.
Liam Proven: This little pond in the woods doesn't look like much, but take a jamjar and look into a water sample. It teems with daphnia, copepods, ostracods & many more micro-beasties.

Liam Proven: I love the signage on this pen. I am looking at huge shaggy bison – remember, "Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo." And the sign tells me they're Canada geese. :-D

Liam Proven: An island in the Vltava dedicated to playgrounds for both small and older children. There's also a bar and an Italian bistro run by a celebrity Czech chef I've never heard of.
Liam Proven: The beer-oriented of the 2 bars in Brevnov monastery. Only cakes & snacks, but a big range of the monastery's own beers, with 1/2 a dozen on draught as well as large & small chilled bottles.
Liam Proven: Big riverside outdoors leisure area with bars, food, swimming and sports area. Good if you're young and energetic and don't care what you drink. Not so good if you want a quiet, high-quality beer.
Liam Proven: There are 2 bars in the monastery grounds, but they are competitors. Choose carefully! Šenk has few beers, but offers a full food menu; the other, the sýpka, has a much better beer range & snacks.
