Perfect carbonara. Bar can be a bit raucous. Best affogato in the city
Love the porchetta sandwich with fried egg for brunch. Killer pasta too.
Go for the best brunch in town... Raviolo al Uovo, with a whole egg yolk inside, is particularly awesome. Great breakfast spot on weekdays, too.

I no longer live on the East coast yet I think of this restaurant with abject longing frequently, it's that great.
Lovely breakfast-- sit at the bar to look out on the park as you eat. The guanciale-filled Amatriciana is my favorite.
If you're out and looking for a burger after 10:30pm, the late night burger is fantastic.

The ricotta pancakes and the bacon at brunch are INSANE!
Please get a side of bacon with your breakfast or brunch.

Janet PFebruary 20, 2010Breakfast at this ristorante romano was delicious. Lived the cacio e pepe scrambled eggs and these little "cinnamon-roll"-like breads with guanciale were downright decadent. Yum yum!
Sit at the bar on the far left, watch the room. For breakfast I recommend the eggs in spicy tomato sauce. It will wake you right up.
Get the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe; it's way better than the overhyped version at Lupa.

Order the trippa alla trasteverina, carciofini fritti, suckling pig. Save room for dessert. "Danny Meyer" hospitality is evident, you'll love the service as much as the food.

Vinny La BarberaJuly 26, 2018Hostesses weren’t helpful or welcoming. The pasta dishes we got were all overcooked. Disappointing but open to try it again in the case that it was an off night. Did see Jimmy Fallon so not all bad.
Delightfully excellent service, and the small-ish looking portions actually perfectly account for the delicious bread.
contadino eggs are my favorite: poached eggs with an assortment of local veggies

This is my favorite Italian restaurant in nyc. It feels like being back home!
Excellent food. The bar area doesn't accept reservations, and the dining room is always full. The lambrusco is super, the carbonara sublime!
