The best German chicken place ever. Don't show up if you don't eat chicken, it's basically the only thing on the menu. Also a rare chance to get an Alt Berlin feeling.
Former Stasi prison for political prisoners, with tours given by former inmates. Provides insight into the Stasi mindset and interrogation techniques.
Nice beer garden in Tiergarten, next to a lock in the canal. Perfect for a nice walk from U Zoologischer Garten.
Large anarchic pizza place with great food, excellent choice for large groups (outside and inside seating.)
If you can get to see the upstairs dance hall with the mirrors (some of which have WWII bullet holes), it is quite a sight. Decent Italian food, good for groups.
A must-visit, the Peter Eisenman designed memorial creeps up on you. Not so spectacular at first glance, but when you go deep into the "valleys", it has an effect.
