Mark Ashworth: Ask for the Hawaiian donuts. They're not on the menu but they're great. They taste like homemade donuts.

Mark Ashworth: Most bars are behind the red house & LGBT friendly. If you're Mandarin-challenged like me, look for the little place called '365' - they give an English menu where you can tick off the items you want

Mark Ashworth: Go straight for the indigenous food stalls. Especially the pork belly

Mark Ashworth: Loved the cheesecake. The owner speaks good English. Cosy hangout.

Mark Ashworth: The boiled tea eggs sold here are really good.

Mark Ashworth: Love the drip coffee. Comes in an odd looking container but don't let that put you off. Place your order at the counter.

Mark Ashworth: The sandwich was really fresh and the bread like nothing I've ever tasted before in Taiwan (my pic is half of the sandwich). Good service too. The waffle was outstanding - a must try.

Mark Ashworth: There's a free to use 24 hour espresso machine. That's all you need.
