Original PenguinNovember 9, 2010Just outside Newport Beach, in Cosa Mesa, lurks the best Mexican in the Inland Empire. The decor ain’t much to look at but adds to the place’s run-down charm. The food is downright excellent.
Matador is where my husband and I fell in love. Over a steak quesadilla.

Brunch Torta is a bit meh. We could only taste beans on the burrito.. Sticking with steak n eggs and omlettes! They are amazing :)

Don't let them sit you in one of the corner booths right behind the hostess table. You have to crawl over other people to get in and will be knocking knees all night.
