Walk thru the wine cellar to check out the SubMercer lounge in the basement. It's open again! Also, eat at at the Mercer Kitchen, one of Jean George Vongerichten's restos, & get the Tuna Wasabi Pizza.

One of the two best hotels in soho. More chic than Crosby Street hotel but more crowded. Excellent service.

If you must get into trouble on the east coast, do it at The Mercer. Lives up to its west coast brethren's reputation but missing the history.

Make like you're going to Mercer Kitchen, walk down the stairs and loop around the corner. Enter the brick cave-like area on the right and you're golden. The trick is to act like you own the place.
