The car rental is a bit detached from the main terminal hub, make sure to plan adequate travel time when returning!

KarolinaMay 19, 2013Curb side check in: with American Airlines they won't give you boarding pass if you tell them that you still have to bring back rental. Lie, or have the car returned prior. :-)

Denisa TodereanAugust 30, 2013No free wifi... All the restaurants, cafes, shops, BATHROOMS closed at 11 pm... Prepare your spanish, not english! The best thing is that you can't get lost and the trains come very fast.

The BEST food is at La Carreta near gate D37. Hmmmm it niiiiice!!!!! Breakfast lunch or dinner. Can't go wrong.
Lots of options and plenty of Admirals Clubs. MIA is a good airport to get in and out of.

Gate E. No line for TSA precheck. But line for Clear. If you have PSA precheck, they hand you blue card after going thru security so you don’t have to take off shoes.
If you're planning on taking a cab, make sure you have cash. Even if you're lucky enough to find a cab with a credit card machine, the driver will tell you it's broken. #MiamiNeedsUber
Taxi to/from Mia Beach is a fixed rate of $32. Takes 10 minutes from SoBe, if no traffic. If on a budget, & have the time, the MIA Flyer (150 line) bus runs twice an hour, takes 45 minutes, $2.25.

Get there hours earlier, roam around and you will meet the most beautiful girls who are bored waiting for their planes.
Ask for directions--the signage makes no sense and you can easily walk in circles if you don't get some expert help from airport staff. #MIAisAwful
If you are flying American, sometimes it’s better to go through security at Checkpoint 4. Usually it’s less crowded than the other security lines

Half the moving walk ways are in disrepair. They are narrow anyways and hard to use with bags.

Much easier to fly out of here on any other airline but American. Look for cafe verseille for great coffee and pastries.
The walk from your gates to the exit is ridiculous. Check it the American Airlines terminal which is new and nice. The Delta terminal needs more amenities. Don't fly us air or United Airlines here.
This airport is HUGE so give yourself ample time to get through security and to your gate

Elise Gina DavisApril 8, 2014Pay attention to the announcements. Sometimes your gate will change at the last minute and you'll only know when you look and everyone is gone.
A big airport! Allow enough time to retrieve your rental car as it is a hike and tram ride away from the terminals!- Lots of traffic. Long lines at immigration. Make sure you get in with 2 hrs to spare at times. Enough food places to keep you busy.

When picking up someone, don't park unless you absolutely must. Use the cell phone lot.
Bring a coat and a pillow. This airport is super cold and there is a severe lack of chairs and walking space. This is my least favorite airport. The experience should be so much better than it is.
