- Craig WattrusJuly 15, 2019Everything was excellent, the bbq ribs, fried chicken and all the sides. Get extra cornbread. Don’t come expecting a wine list or super speedy service. Come for the food and vibe.
- Serious EatsSeptember 3, 2013For the best soul food in the area, try the excellent home-cooked fare at Spoonbread Too (make sure to hit their side dishes and red velvet cake).
- Eric AndersonMarch 10, 2013Juicy fried chicken plus delicious greens n mac. Topped off with the best waiter I've had in ages and some Teddy Pendergrass blasting and you're truly in heaven. Will be back soon.
- Tiffani NicoleJune 29, 2013Goooood food!! Disappointed about my collard greens thou... Looks like they were from the bottom of a dried up pot!! Mac and cheese & yams DELISH!! Short ribs yummy
- JonJanuary 5, 2019Had take out. The chicken and waffles and sides were tasty. Looking forward to trying the food in the restaurant.
- Harlem AmbassadorMarch 28, 2013The white picket fence and laced curtains will confuse many. It's Harlem's version of So. Carolina The seafood gumbo and smothered chicken put things in perspective. Soul food for Columbia University.
- Tolgar CanliJuly 12, 2011For a first-timer like me the sampler platter was perfect, and it comes with 3 sides. I also had the sweet tea, and the red velvet cake as dessert. All great!
- Karen DuganApril 13, 2012The food is definitely precooked and reheated when you order it but it reminds you of the good southern cooking that you reheat when your at your parents house! enjoy
- Christina HagopianMarch 17, 2013Don't come hungry or in a hurry. Excuse the slow service; food is worth the wait. Favorites: Fried chicken, collards, Mac n' cheese and red velvet cake.
- I have never had anything less than superb off the menu here. The spoonbread punch, BBQ chicken, collard greens, ribs, smothered chicken are all delicious and generously portioned.
- Catfish, mac-n-cheese and greens. YUM!!, save room for desert..red velvet cake or coconut cake de lish
- Amina CisseJuly 6, 2013Don't cime here if you're on a tight schedule. Food is really d awesome but the staff pays very little attention to the guests. For my first time here, I had a really poor experience.
- @JaumePrimeroJanuary 13, 2012My partner in crime Stephanie says the red velvet cake and the ribs are bangin here. I am obliged to agree!
- Marieka JacksonDecember 31, 2011My favorite soul food in the city, even if it does make my tummy hurt afterwards. Jerk chicken is my favorite!
- Catherine BJanuary 29, 2012smothered chicken was amazing. if you get fried chicken, order a side of honey with it.
- Narisa OlivieriApril 22, 2014Really, really slow service and 45 minute wait for food when it was practically empty. But the food was AMAZING and well worth the wait.
- I agree with Eric. Southern fried chicken, with collards and MAC. Don't ask. Just enjoy.
- food is awesome service is great and it very clean. even the bathroom
- SimplyDeidraJune 25, 2013Service here is very slow. I suggest you go here before you're hungry. By the time the food comes you'll finally get your food. The waitress has a nasty attitude also
- Scott ChristianApril 24, 2011Go EARLY. If you go an hour before close, carry out only. Trust me not a good thing if you travel an hour
- Naomi TolsonFebruary 11, 2015Don't order delivery as it will take 2+ hours. Food is pretty good but not worth the long wait.
- Tanya RobinsonJune 9, 2013If you enjoy eating food then you might want to go elsewhere. Good luck getting them to even take your order.FAIL.
- Harriet RushMarch 22, 2014Eat somewhere else... The Rice and Beans were cold. The Lemonade had seeds, and the service was HORRIBLE.
- YensApril 3, 2010Pretty mediocre. The food is a bit pricey for what it is and the food was barely warm. Hop n John was really dry, fried chicken was good the punch had weird after taste. Mediocre.
- Sherrell BooneJuly 15, 2013Food ok. Nothing to go crazy over. And don't go hungry they take forever to bring your food
