Feels like you're walking into an upscale Italian restaurant & wine bar until you look at the prices. The pastas & pizzas are amazing, but don't skip the gelato after your meal!

The food is expertly prepared and priced very reasonably, especially for a restaurant as date-worthy as this. Don't miss the Bucatini all’ Gricia and Cacio e Pepe Pizza. Read more

The pies as Mario Batali's wildly popular pizzeria start on the griddle and finish in the broiler. Otto serves one of the city's great clam pies, as well as a terrific lardo and rosemary-topped pizza. Read more

Skip the pizza, which is mostly unremarkable, and go for the small plates and pasta, which are exellent. Don't miss the olive oil gelato as everyone mentions. Great wine list as well.

Mario Batali food at Olive Garden level insane value prices. Cacio e peppe pizza, pasta Norma, put extra prosciutto on any pizza, and the olive oil gelato to finish.

Otto lets you feel fancy with its extensive wine list and authentic pizzas but is actually pretty inexpensive! Also, yum.

Fantastic pizza and pasta. Try the broccoli rabe with chilis and pecorino. Both olive oil gelato and clam pizza were amazing. If there's a long wait for a table then order a pizza at the bar.

Perhaps the best priced, handmade pasta in the city. Great wine list. Spectacular gelato.

The Pane Frattau pizza is amazing! As well as gelato in the following flavors: olive oil, sweetcorn and crème fraîche. Ask the waiter for wine recommendations.

A must go while in New York. One block from Washington Square, it offers and awesome atmosphere with reasonable price point. Caprese salad, prosciutto pizza and olive oil gelato are a must!

Family friendly cafe with tasty pizza and a wide variety of gelato flavours (including the unique olive oil). Nothing too special but nevertheless quite good.

Skip breakfast and eat a light lunch before embarking on an Batali-powered Italian family-style feast. Appetizers are great as well as the honey/marmalade-paired cheeses. Try the olive oil ice cream!

One of Mario Batali's greatest gifts to the city! Amazingly delicious italian tapas & pizza at reasonable prices. The veggies are SO good they have to be bad. Save room, the gelato is the best!

Really crispy thin crust pizza with fresh, tangy sauce. Gelato can only be ordered in 3-scoop servings, so go hungry or with other people. Regular bar crowd gets lively -- and loud, so grab a table.

Very heavy by-the-glass pours. Formaggio plate comes with truffle honey sauce, sour cherries, and spicey peaches. Pizza and pasta is amazing. Mario Batali is a genius.

Kid-friendly, good sunchoke salad though throughout a bit heavy on oil (same for the veggie sides). Lambrusco and carafes of wine - delish, great value. Good service.

Definitely make reservations or be prepared to wait. Start with a selection of Meats and Cheeses and then go straight to the Pizza – Otto Lardo, Prosciutto Arugula or Pizza Del Giorno.

Get "Baby Spinach, Ricotta Salata & Truffle Honey" as a starter. I felt the pizza toppings were too sparse, but loved my "Sesame Halvah Tartufo" dessert.

Thin crust pizza peaks with Romana's vibrant toppings, like chiles, capers. Try the sleeper vongole pie. Pizza or pasta at lunch brings a glass of Prosecco, w/a 4sq check-in. (Orig. review 3/12/11)
