- Rachel IvyJune 5, 2015Awesome food! Had the candied fig&lamb skewers, grilled octopus, grilled shrimp, and pumpkin galaktoboureko (greek pumpkin pie!) :D Waiter was so sweet & helpful and he gave great recommendations.
- DarynaOctober 15, 2014Outstanding. Delish oysters and clams. Bloody Mary made with fresh ingredients (not Bloody Mary mix). Waiter have been so attentive. I got cucumber rush, but swapped it to Bloody Mary with no prob.
- Kevin StappMarch 11, 2018Popular spot for Sunday brunch. Had the special which was Greek shaved lamb with fried onions and gravy on a roll: delicious! Sunday brunch comes with a complimentary mimosa or Bloody Mary

- Sharon DiCostanzoJuly 14, 2013Delicious brunch! Stuffed French toast and Ovelia omelet were yummy. Brunch comes with a mimosas or Bloody Mary AND coffee or juice.
- We were kind of blown away— there was a spicy feta stuffed calamari dish. Whoa. Also bone marrow was top notch— happy hour till 8!
- Alyssa LamontagneAugust 12, 2012The food, presentation, and service were all dazzling. Our waitress was quick and friendly, the fruit fries were impossibly good, and the sofrito steak sandwich was the best thing I've ever tasted.
- Ada ChiuJanuary 20, 2020Pita sandwich was good! Cute and cozy spot right by the train station. They do happy hour on the weekends too.
- Kristen KNovember 6, 2011Great brunch place! Ovelia has a deal where you can get an entree + coffee + juice/cocktail for only around $15 avg. They offer unique, healthy options too - like beet omelettes and wheat pancakes!

- Renee KoppelmansAugust 23, 2016Get the tzaziki and fried feta as appitizers! Yum! Friendly staff and good prices for what you get.
- Village VoiceFebruary 10, 2014Village Voice is proud to welcome Ovelia Psistaria to the 2014 Choice Eats food fest! http://bit.ly/1cRzdNV. Greek food that is all about grilling--no fried foods here.
- Rory ParnessNovember 10, 2013The Kleftiko was fantastic but they only serve on weekends. Well worth the wait. Also, saved 30% with foursquare!
- Village VoiceMay 14, 2012Loved 'em at Choice Eats, now they're helping serve the theater community at VV's 57th Annual Obie Awards May 21 at Webster Hall! The Greeks did invent theater, after all.
- Selena FrederickJune 13, 2011Not recommended if you want to get in and out of brunch in under an hour, but perfect for a relaxed meal. Corn flapjacks are incredible, and their lattes get me in during the week too.
- Get the kobe beef sliders with regular house fries! Amazing combination of spices and salt! Need to have!!
- Fantastic calamari. Also try their Mastic Lemonada now that the spring weather is returning!
- Michael Carr-SmithMay 24, 2013Food was sensational. Service excellent. We got an awesome four square coupon discount. Great night
- J RoApril 13, 2013brunch includes mimosa or bloody mary and oj, coffee, milk or tea. don't get the steak sofrito! meat isn't seasoned at all and the salad comes without any dressing? strange.
- Enjoyable brunch, but they over-season sometime. The farce in the sweet potato crepe is plain and unremarkable. But staff has always been super friendly.
- Love the service! Love the drinks! Great food! Vasilis is the best waiter. :)
- love this place! the fuego margarita is the best! also LOVE the vaca frita as a salad. just AVOID the beet (infused, wtf) omelet.
- Greg W.August 6, 2011Village Salad is a great starter for two people (comes with awesome pita), then get crab stuffed shrimp!
- This place makes the best sandwiches out of homemade tiropita (feta cheese) bread.
- The fiesta salad with raspberry vinaigrette with or without protein is perfection. Highly recommended.
- Nedy LutfiJanuary 24, 2011One of the more popular spots in Astoria, I've been here for both brunch and dinner and greatly enjoyed both.
- CosimoSeptember 23, 2012Great iced cappuccino and super great waitress, wifi password: lamburgini ;)
- Maureen McgrathNovember 28, 2012The pea soup is off the hook! You'll be happy with this choice. Enjoy
- Asli SMarch 1, 2017Nice decor & vibe, good for dates. The Loukaniko was tasty, Kreatopita was ok (meat was a little dry).
- Amrita ohboyMarch 19, 2013What a disappointment.... Food was too salty. Came here with 5 people and everyone's plates were terrible. This is my 4th time here and I've never had such a bad experience.
- Attended an event there. Very nice. DEFINITELY have their calamari.
