Found behind a “secret” door next to Crif Dogs, this place is a favorite for classic and tweaked cocktails. As seen on Travel Channel’s The Layover with Anthony Bourdain.

Underwhelmed by decor, service, and drinks. The phone got gimmicky really fast, even w. reservations, and the ambiance mirrored an upscale college bar. Go around the corner to e 6th for better options

Come early and on an off night and you'll have a chance at getting in without calling ahead. The Benton's Old Fashioned, bacon-infused bourbon, is uncanny

The bartenders are alchemists. Ask about the essences arrayed at the bar. If a flavor sounds appealing ask for its associated cocktail. A good way to discover the menu.

I was having trouble deciding what cocktail I wanted so I asked the gentleman bartender for a recommendation and he pondered. A minute later he poured the most brilliant drink..like he read my mind.

Excellent for out-of-towners you want to impress. Love the drinks but I'm really there for the hot dogs... Especially the Jon Jon deragon. You can order crif dogs as long as you know the name.

Walk into Crif Dogs. Look for a phone booth. Step inside, pick up the phone and press the buzzer once. Not twice. A voice answers, after approval, the wall of the booth opens to let you into the bar.
