For such a tiny bar PDT’s reputation is vast, due in part to its phone booth-in-a-hot-dog-stand entrance and ubiquitous bartender-proprietor Jim Meehan. Read more

Here's how you get in: Enter Crif Dogs, and veer left into a phone booth.Bam: you¹re inside. Enjoy the kitsch on the walls and try to avoid thecalorie-busting deep-fried hot dogs (if you can).

Try PDT's very first vodka cocktail - the Gold Coast! Made with Karlsson's Gold, Carlshamns Flaggpunsch (a Swedish arrack), simple syrup, dill, and "black pepper essence."

If you get here before your date don't be confused. Walk into the phone booth, pick up the phone. You'll be let into a dark haven. Order the Rosemary Society and comment on his witty date pick.

The bartenders are alchemists. Ask about the essences arrayed at the bar. If a flavor sounds appealing ask for its associated cocktail. A good way to discover the menu.
