- Naphat KijsamrejJuly 14, 2015The East Village classic brunch. Excellent pancakes, Dutch-style (crunchy edges, fluffy middle with in season fruit). Good value steak and eggs and sausages and oysters. Don't forget the bloody marys!
- Ruby AnayaNovember 19, 2017The steak and eggs are suuuuuper rich and it comes with a half plate of hash browns. Tbh I prefer Jack’s Wife Frieda, but the Bloody Bullshot is pretty perfect 👌🏽
- Fantastic brunch. Come before 11 or after 2. The Bloody Mary options are plentiful -- the spicier the better. Eggs all cooked perfectly, hash browns go with every dish, and share the Dutch pancakes.
- EaterMay 5, 2015Dishes are rustic or downright simple (the famed sardines and Triscuits remain a staple), but solid. Brunch is a classic in its own right, but be prepared for the wait.
- Victor LowJuly 26, 2017Really can't go wrong at Prune. Small dishes make it perfect for sharing with friends. Special roasted beef rib is messy but perfect for bone gnawers. Ask for advice on wine. Save room for dessert.
- Ranu RajkarnikarNovember 9, 2014So worth the wait. Get the spiced chickpeas (eggs on top are delicious) and a Bloody Mary. Do not leave without ordering the Dutch Baby as well. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
- Ashley ChanMay 18, 2017Possibly my favorite brunch in the city to date. Definitely a restaurant with spunky character. They serve kick-ass Bloody Marys & the spaghetti carbonara is divine. Also devoured the Dutch pancake.
- Michael MuseSeptember 10, 2014One of my top 3 brunches in the city. I like the fairly simple Egg 'En Cocotte', or the Benedict. Dinner's pretty great too.
- The Food SlutsJune 25, 2012Hip, happening place on the LES. Great brunch with brilliant Bloody Marys (there's an entire menu). Try the sweet, creamy and generously portioned fresh ricotta ($13). Read more
- Emily WilsonDecember 10, 2016Try something different for brunch... Sausage & oysters. And get the perfect bibb salad on the side. Not into that idea? Here's another one: spaghetti al carbonara.
- naveenNovember 11, 2014So many things but it's the dessert that got me: French toast with Belgian chocolates. Ice cream on brioche. Walnuts and clementines.
- Anne ConnerJanuary 3, 2016Genuinely one of the best pancakes ever. I've been to Prune for dinner + brunch, both of which are phenomenal. I'd recommend to anyone. The environment, the food, and the people are perfect. ✨
- Varun ShettyJune 1, 2014Finish the owner's book (Blood, Bones & Butter) and then come here for brunch. Get the Monte Cristo and get the pancake for the table to share.
- Village VoiceAugust 4, 2014This joint has got personality to spare: a friendly staff, a small dining room filled with fiercely loyal regulars, and a quirky menu that runs from the inspired to the insane. Read more
- Grace BarrApril 29, 2018homemade ricotta and donuts were amazing. Also loved the huevos rancheros!! Wait on a Saturday at noon was only 15 min 👍🏻
- Lucy MariaJuly 16, 2017The Dutch pancakes are the best!!! The spaghetti a la carbonara is also yummy! Small spot and gets busy for brunch, but worth the wait!
- Staff PicksAugust 29, 2014Sunday morning brunches are best with a side of Bloody Mary. Prune opens up early for brunch and has both bases covered. Read more
- Everything is great here. Expect a long wait if you are more than two people. Trying the ricotta today
- AmateurConciergeJune 21, 2015The wait is usually long, but for perfectly done traditional brunch items (scrambled eggs, hash browns, etc) this spot has the ambience and the recipes. One of the best in the hood
- Kev SkinnyFebruary 14, 2016Had an awesome meal here. Get the pickled shrimp, the steak, the mustard salad, sprouts, chowder soaked toast. Skate wing was decent. Overall 8.5
- Always a treat. Gabrielle's quirky takes on classic dishes. This time had the Shrimp w/anchovy butter to start. Be sure to mop up all the sauce with the good bread!
- Sara StatesNovember 18, 2013I've heard nothing but amazing things about this brunch spot. I've yet to go for brunch, but dinner was fantastic! The octopus and the pork chop were my meal highlights. Can't wait to try brunch.
- Avneesh KohliOctober 29, 2018The Dutch style pancake and lamb sausage were great. Surprisingly small place so expect a line, but worth the wait!
- Amnon BFebruary 8, 2014It small but in Parisian way food...is just amazing four of us chose different dishes and every thing was truly outstanding.....we will come back many times (expect to pay 100-125$ per person )
- Sandra RubinchikNovember 30, 2014The restaurant is pretty small and crowded, but the food is great. Their dinner menu changes seasonally, so it's hard to make recommendations—that said, the duck and pigeon entrées were amazing.
- Bin YangOctober 19, 2012If you're here for dinner, get the heart, tongue, and the bone marrow. Don't be a wimp, you can thank me later. And save some space for desserts!
- Asher KinyonSeptember 12, 2015Oysters are terrific and really well seasoned. Potato rossi is a must have with sour cream. Eggs are light and fluffy. Coffee is steep at $3 with no refills, but well worth it.
- Michelle A.January 25, 2014While everyone talks about brunch, the real star here is the roasted bone marrow. Luxuriously decadent and oh so delicious. It's good enough to make it your entrée.
- Tim JulienApril 5, 2015Bar seating is a great way to shorten your wait and watch the bartenders make those famous bloodies; which, by the way, come with shorty beer chasers.

- Tasting TableMay 18, 2016This cozy spot on the Lower East Side offers ten variations of Bloody Marys - good enough reason to keep brunching all summer long. They also make a killer Dutch pancake! Read more
- Jess LeungJanuary 21, 2013The Soft Scrambled Eggs are excellent but it's all about the Dutch Style Pancake here. Crispy along the edges and super soft and fluffy in the inside, it's like eating a gigantic madeleine.
- Alexa ScordatoSeptember 29, 2012If you're a savory brunch person, get the steak and eggs. Want something sweet? Pancake with pear and canadian bacon!
- Seriously the best bloody Mary's, hands down. Some favorites: spicy stewed chickpeas, monte cristo, pancake & Joe's dairy. Clearly, I brunch a lot here.
- Elizabeth LeeOctober 21, 2016Casual bistro serving potent drinks and fantastic mains. Try their veal main dish and squid appetiser. Order the ginger cake to finish off.
- Hannah HanNovember 19, 2014Can't say enough about the BLOODY MARY! Simply the best- very spicy and tangy w/out being too tomato-y. Love their eggs benedict and carbonara too, but not the long wait ;(
- katwiththekJanuary 25, 2019Come for the service. Come for the food. Come for the nice atmosphere. (sorry the mussels were so good, I devoured them all before the pic)
- Honghui YuNovember 20, 2016Highlights are the Dutch pancake and chickpea stew. Very small space and popular on weekends so be sure to come early (before 10:30) to avoid a wait
- Village VoiceJune 3, 2013The menu at Prune is always a surprise, but they manage to make an array of seemingly random ingredients work together in ways you would have never imagined. Go at lunch when you can nab a seat!
- KevinMarch 9, 2015Brunch! The Bloody Mary is a must and the lamb sausage is to die for. I want to try everything on the menu at this little gem.
- Leonor TorresFebruary 2, 2015I loved the fried oyster omelette! Very nice interior design, ambience and service. You have to wait - but it's worth it.
- The Corcoran GroupJuly 9, 2013Pair their signature Bloody Mary with their crowd-favorite Dutch Pancake. Be sure to get here early to beat the morning brunch rush!

- Serious EatsMarch 12, 2013Gabrielle Hamilton's American bistro in the East Village, known for top-notch homestyle cooking.
- Emilie DishonghApril 21, 2015The chicken liver canneloni are out of control. The pan sauce on the pigeon is similarly incredible. Even the shrimp toast is awesome. Prune makes you hate sharing.
- Wilson ZhouAugust 8, 2014Gabrielle Hamilton knows that perfectly ripe peaches don't need a whole lot of bells and whistles: She caramelizes the fruit and piles it on top of a soft piece of white bread.
- Mascarpone Ice Cream with salted caramel brioche croutons. Just the right balance of sweet and salty.
