- ZenFoodsterJanuary 6, 2017My #1 fave Salmon (grilled on top of curried rice) dish in NYC..timeless & consistent...even after 18+ yrs, I still crave it! I also love their curried chicken broth noodles & eggplant appetizer.
- Rachel IvyJanuary 25, 2015The seafood pad thai is delicious and the frozen lychee martini is a bit too sweet but really yummy. Dishes are really big, I usually get 2 lunches out of them.
- This place has been around forever. The spicy coconut chicken, the pad Thai and the salmon are all excellent - solid cocktails as well. You can't go wrong with just about anything on the menu.
- AlexApril 14, 2016spicy coconut chicken noodle soup was delicious— salty, sour, and savory. happy hour is great— the elderflower saketini is cute and refreshing. the matcha colada is AMAZING. fun atmosphere
- Hal KirklandJune 25, 2013Contrary to what the signage and placemats may say this place is actually a monarchy. Decision making is embodied by a single ruling individual or in other words a boss. Some say its for tax reasons.
- Jin MoonAugust 12, 2017Their dinner set is one of their best deals. I couldn't stop eating the pork from their vermicelli noodles since they were so nicely charred and tender.
- Graylyn RooseJuly 11, 2017This has become a Union Square mainstay for me, when looking for a cheap happy hour or a quick bite. $5 appetizers from 4-7 Mon-Fri and noodle portions are huge!
- Match ThisflyOctober 16, 2014The fried calamari is real good. The green papaya salad is light and refreshing. They no longer serve the spicy duck, so my go to now is the spicy coconut chicken.
- HolidayJuly 20, 2017Matcha collada! Need to open up a take out window for these beauties. Matcha and coconut milk, divine. Also gluten free menu available.
- Jessica ImbertJuly 10, 2013Happy hour drinks are not watered down. Execellent service and very friendly staff. Everything I had was great. Dumplings, wonton, pad thai, papaya salad, spicy coconut broth noodles. Def recommend.
- My go-to work lunch place around union square. There's always room, it's quick, and it's delicious. The noise can be a little much if you need to seriously be talking, but otherwise a solid place.
- ValNovember 21, 2013Large space a tad on the pricey side and cold! Brrrr. Benches are attached to the floor 😕. Can't go wrong with the lime chicken soup, Pad Thai or soup dumplings!
- Yoeun PenDecember 12, 2016Don't know if anything else here is good, but I dream about the Spicy Beef Noodle soup. Full of so much flavor! Similar to bun bo hue—I've not found anything else like it in the city.
- DevontaAugust 25, 2012The Pad Thai (with Shrimp & Calamari) is amazing! Don't be scared to use your chopsticks. Add a Ginger Margarita to your order! First timer of Thai food! A+++
- Village VoiceMay 6, 2013Though this joint is famous for its noodles, we say go for the grilled pork chops. They're sliced razor thin, flame grilled and coated with a thin sweet sauce and presented with all the trimmings.
- One of my favorite places in the area. Love their salmon sashimi! & their crispy tofu! & the grilled eggplants... &... (I could go on). Eat outside, @ the bar or take the window seat 4 ppl watching.
- Jerry BritoAugust 14, 2014I don't get the mixed reviews for this place. Service was great, food was delicious, price was right, and communal ambiance was nice. Papaya salad and spicy beef noodles hit the spot.
- Daria BlednovaJune 24, 2015Food was exotic but tastes good. The interior is simple but lovely. Stuff — no buts — lovely! And prices are good. Enjoyed it a lot.
- Spicy Seafood. Rice, noodles, shrimp, squid, bay scallops, scallions, catfish(WTF) ...bean sprouts, fried shallots, cilantro, gslanga
- Nicholas BowersJuly 10, 2012It ain't gourmet, but it is pretty tasty. The portions are large enough that you'll have enough for lunch the next day as well. The happy hour is pretty good, especially the 1/2 price cocktails.
- BeeNovember 24, 2016The noodle bowls are big enough split between two, and coconut tapioca dessert is really interesting!
- Christina SquitieriDecember 17, 2015The Spicy Beef is not that spicy and delicious! Also, they have amazing mojitos that are around $8 during Happy Hour. Definitely worth it!
- Lainie KleinDecember 23, 2015My favorite childhood noodle spot. Luckily only the prices have changed and not the quality or the service. One of the only quality NY places left in the culinary wasteland that is union square.
- Nate BeattyApril 25, 2015Too much awesome food to choose. Go with a few people and get a bunch of dishes to share. Can't go wrong with the pork chops or salmon.
- ansje millerOctober 4, 2014Best quick cheap joint on union square. If you are gluten free ask for the special menu. If you want more spice ask for hot sauce.
- Jay MimesAugust 14, 2014The happy hour drinks and the Pad Thai are superb. I'm also a big fan of the fried calamari, but everything on the menu is great!
- T ZApril 12, 2015I got the Lime Chicken noodles which was a bit too sour for my taste - overall tasted similar to pho. also huge portions. Skewers and tofu appetizers were pretty good.
- Rodrigo Narciso G da SilvaFebruary 21, 2016The food here is always delicious and very good price. The service is good and fast. My favorites: Vegetable Dumplings and Marinated Salmon.
- Ashley RoseNovember 9, 2015Deceptively large. The spicy coconut chicken broth bowl was tasty- though the chicken was a little rubbery. Happy hour every day 3-7!
- Jon TorerkOctober 2, 2012One of the best noodle houses in Chelsea area. One of my go to places in NYC when I visit and a regular stop when I lived there.
- CompassApril 25, 2014Republic proves that some of the best dining is also some of the most affordable. The casual Thai restaurant is a favorite among tourists and locals.
- Joseph MwambaMarch 3, 2015The Pad Thai is one of the best in the city. I've had a ton and it's definitely the best I've ever had.
- Criscris DSeptember 15, 2013Great noodles. Yummy drinks. A little bit noisy. Oh and they have long tables so you might be seated with strangers at the same table.
- Collette SNovember 17, 2015Casual spot to grab noodles and a cocktail in Union Square. The Lime Noodles were great, though very lime-y!
- Stephen McAllisterFebruary 19, 2017Pad thai and the calamari as an appetizer 👌 You'll be doing well to finish the Pad Thai, great size portions
- Vianney BrandicourtSeptember 22, 2014Good place for a quick, decent meal. A wealth of options: the sauteed beef salad is good. The acoustics inside are terrible; a seat outside -- in the din of Union Square -- is ironically better.
- Bradley DharamJanuary 14, 2012Really great place. The price/portion ratio is near-perfect, and there's plenty of table & bar room. They serve Asian cuisine of all sorts, from some curry dishes to Pad Thai. ***
- Christina YoshiiAugust 1, 2015Spicy beef noodles was recommended to me by the waiter and wow he was right sooo good !
- I'm not sure what's in the frozen sangria, but have two of them and you have a nice buzz going on. Food wise, the BBQ Pork dish is fantastic.
- Tash ConcepcionNovember 11, 2014Decent fusion Asian place if you're looking for a quick bite in the Union Square area. Trendy but relatively cheap and fast. Pad Thai and sautéed curried chicken noodles were solid choices.
- Appetizer: Fried CalamariEntre: Pad ThaiDrink: Thai Iced TeaDessert: No room for dessert
- Jeanette KimJune 9, 2014Great casual spot, attentive service, quick food! Sautéed beef salad was appropriately fresh and filling in equal parts
- Amanda PaulJuly 12, 2017Huge restaurant. Sunday special of $10 pad thai which is delish. Dumplings are a great app.
- Jordan BeanJanuary 6, 2017It's a bit too loud if looking for a more intimate setting, but the service is great and the food is delicious!
- Shannon CoulsonMarch 27, 2015The food is really good and the portions are massive, but the hostess made me get up and move halfway through my meal, and they didn't even comp my tea or anything.
- Noah FleischakerDecember 10, 2011Reasonably cheap food in union square is like stumbling upon a unicorn, so enjoy it, loud yes authentic probably not but good yes and reasonably priced I totally enjoy republic for what it is
- Calvin MultanenMay 7, 2016Nice happy hour deal and good food. The BBQ pork with vermicelli is delicious
- Vietnamese Chicken Broth is where it's at... Best of all, cilantro in almost every dish!
- Udi RubinAugust 16, 2014Pad Thai and vegetables dumplings were awesome! Finally decent noodle at decent price. Will come back.
