- Joseph FisherJanuary 19, 2014Leave your ego on first ave and come here knowing it's the best 4 hours of your life. Rent the shorts. Wear the gross sandals. Get into it. Have a beer & cold plunge. Best money spent in Greenwich Vil
- C HAugust 9, 2019Just go with it. I love this place. The massage from Sasha is my favorite treatment. I leave a new woman. Food is supposed to be good too, but I’ve no clue what to order, so maybe next time!
- FreshNYC p}-:{>February 2, 2015The primeval appearance is charming to some and maybe dingy for others, but the communal no-nonsense atmosphere and facility is what really helps it stand out including the surprisingly delicious café Read more
- Jack ReevesDecember 21, 2015David's shifts have a lot of deals - get the mailing list and check groupon etc. Boris's shifts don't have many deals but a 10-pack of admissions is $200 and you can split it with a friend.
- Eduardo SantanaJanuary 18, 2014Pretty crowded on the weekends. Come during the week whenever possible. Also don't touch the walls in the Russian Bath, you will get burned. #seriously
- TSeptember 23, 2018My favorite is the Russian room where everyone uses the buckets to dump water on their head.
- The Corcoran GroupMarch 1, 2013Come here with a friend and enjoy a day steaming, sweating, cold plunging and getting beat with some sticks! Just bring your own sandals and towel.
- Some people love it, some loathe it, but this bath house has character and history. You have to try at least once in your lifetime and judge for yourself. The perfect spot to come to in the winter.
- Anastasia KotelnikovaOctober 15, 2014Platza, massages, olivier salad, pelmeni, borscht and russian /ukranian beer. Perfect. ...And nothing else matter (c) ;))
- Kourosh BehnamFebruary 23, 2015This is the place to be on a freezing NYC night. Steam room, sauna heaven. Grab a Russian beer before you leave. It tops off the intense culture experience.
- It isn't high-end or plush by any means, but it makes up for it in character as well as heat. It does get crowded at times, usually after 6 during the week and 2 on weekend.
- If you like going for the experience go Friday night. If you like going for the social scene, try Saturday afternoon in the winter. #russianandturkishbaths
- AmateurConciergeJanuary 18, 2016Do NOT go straight into the Russian room and sit on the top row. You gotta build up to that shit
- Whether you are a first timer or an old timer, it's fun to come up with and debate your "moves" - your favorite order of sweat, rest and chill operations.
- Dartagnan DelgadoOctober 23, 2013Come during Boris' shift. Coed sauna and spa with old country character. B.Y.O. Slippers and suit especially the women.
- The place for a zen vibe after a long day/week in that furious city. Sauna. Massage. Baths... And a nice rooftop for sunny days ♥
- Vee BeeSeptember 30, 2013Those that love it can keep it. Vomit on the floor of the bathroom (really!), flip flops reused without cleaning and big hairy men farmer-blowing their sinus' in the chilled bath? No thanks.
- ᴡ ReinfordApril 12, 2013perfect detox spot. beware there are two owners that alternate weeks and do not honor punch cards from the other owner. it's weird. get hot and then go sit on the patio.
- Kevin GrantNovember 12, 2018If you’re not jumping in the ice pool after every sauna session you’re doing it wrong
- mayoSeptember 14, 2010The Russian room is not for half-milers. Sit on the 3rd row up if you can hack it. Try and get a spot next to the water tap. Don't forget to weigh yourself on the scale before & after. Hangover cure!
- aztec economySeptember 11, 2010maybe our all-time favorite spot in this entire city. the radiant heat room is no joke.the ice cold frigid pool isn't either. the dumplings and beer (or beet smoothies) in the midst of vintage 80's B-
- The radiant rooms are incredible. Crazy heat clears you out
- TingNovember 22, 2015The platza oak leaf treatment leaves you with a newfound appreciation for life. Viktor was great.
- Nate SJanuary 15, 2023Heat rises — the higher you sit, the hotter it is. Especially true for the Russian Room! 🥵
- Alex CasariegoNovember 16, 2014Amazing experience. But seriously, bring a pair of shorts, you don't want to wear those robes in the sauna.
- SaraNovember 21, 2015It's nice bc it's one of the few Russian baths in the city but it gets crowded and they will bug you to buy their $200 pass thing.
- Kara TJanuary 28, 2017No frills, old school experience. Russian sauna is extra 🔥, cold plunge pool is ☃️! sudden influx of loud NYU students hanging out in the already tiny pass thru areas hurried me out the door, though.
- amNewYorkOctober 10, 2011There is a eucalyptus-filled aromatherapy room, and traditional massages using oak leaves soaked in olive oil. After your shvitz, be sure to sample some Russian cuisine.
- KateFebruary 28No frills bathhouse. The banya is piping hot and the cold plunge is frigid. Good value for money
- Felisa LuoJanuary 16, 2020no frills place to sweat and cool pool. come early on weekends or on weeknights to avoid loud crowds
- Start with the steam room to the left than go to the hottest Russian room. Don't forget the cold plunge between and dunk twice for the full effect.
- Bachelor10April 23, 2011On a bachelor party, buy the Bachelor a Platza Oak Leaf procedure in the Russian Room. Grab some beers and have a good laugh about it out on the deck after. Read more
- Valerie PetrovJuly 11, 2011Try the Siberian Pilmeni at the cafe. Very well-seasoned and delicious! Better than at some restaurants I've been to!
- Get the platza. Don't freak out too much that that means you're getting beat up by oak leaves in a 200 degree room.
- Tamika GlissonMarch 9, 2015I can't say enough about this place...I'm going to go through withdrawal when I leave NY
- Alexis TiradoOctober 15, 20122 things you need to pack before you go here: bathing suit & flip flops! Do it. Like now.
- Brendan McDonaldFebruary 5, 2017Decent prices, gruff service. Not new or very clean, but still pretty great.
- Bring your own flip flops. They provide them, but better safe than sorry.

- The eucalyptus steam room is amazing, hit that first and the head to the hot room.
- Really special. Get some fresh juice. Massage. Try everything.
- Brady DaleOctober 28, 2013This place is chaotic, dirty and loud. If you like a chill schvitz and a good spot for hanging out by the saunas, this isn't your place. Everyone gets dirty sandals.
