Sam Dal Monte: Cozy, charming place with a unique design sensibility in an unusual location. Fantastic espresso drinks (try the flat white) and cookies. Go see the latest art exhibition upstairs.
Robyn Yager: Ask the owner for a good coffee recommendation for the Syphon and have it to stay while sitting at the wood table at the window. You won't be disappointed.

citieguy: Though the Drive has lots of choice, this minimalist box seems like it was transplanted from New York or London. It gurgles with creative types, local hipsters, and travel escapees. Sip slowly.
Sam Dal Monte: Huge windows are great for natural light, gazing at the downtown skyline, and Main St people watching (both inside and out). Excellent, eclectic selection of reading material. Lots of hipsters around.
David Prestidge: Perhaps the most perfectly and precisely poured pour overs I've encountered and the old fashioned doughnuts are superb (though of the devil; nothing that good could be good for you)
Taylor Loren: This is where you want to come if you're an espresso snob. However, lack of outlets makes this more of a visiting locale than a work cafe.

Andrew Hill: In a city of great coffee, this place stands out. Really friendly owners, and really really great coffee! Easily my favorite in town. A macchiato is a great topper after a great meal nearby!
Jessica Hugh: Amazing atmosphere, awesome staff, great coffee. Tucked away in the Klahanie development. A perfect area for a boutique coffee shop. Loved it!

Iván Farías: This is a fantastic place to relax and have a great coffee! Try the raspberry mocha and the chocolate peanut butter cookie. They just rock!
CK Stenberg: A nice character coffee shop in the Fairview / Cambie area set in a heritage house. Nice alternative to all of the modern fixings that have become this neighborhood.

Taylor Loren: If you insist on going for a coffee date on campus, you'll want to do it here. Hipster, all white, and a lot of Macbooks with great coffee. Chai latte is okay, food selection not superb.
