Unbelievable non-pretentious Japanese. Try the communal table and make a friend. Udon, gyoza, sushi tacos, and eggplant appetizer are all musts. 😻

Sushi tacos! Get the "taco set" and sample five delicious (& generously portioned) sushi treats! Pair it with a sumptuous gyoza starter, baked to a perfect brown crispy in a small cast iron skillet.

If you're craving for a nice bowl of udon noodles, go here! I love the kinoko (mushroom) kake udon served hot. I recommend adding a poached egg and pork belly on top!

New contemporary take on japanese. Three different soy sauce blends based on intensity and udon noodle served with broth separate from the dish. It's not pretentious, it's actually all quite good.

Delicious, inexpensive Japanese restaurant specializing in udon. The udon is best I've tried in NY. To be more cozy ask to sit at the bar in the back. A great stop for lunch and dinner.

This is my favorite Japanese spot. I'm usually more of a traditionalist, but I just adore the atmosphere here, and the food is spot on. Everything I've tried is pure delight.

Sushi was delish! We had a feast with salmon avocado, tuna avocado and salmon negi. Loved their three type of soya sauce as well! Try also the pork gyozas.

Their gyoza is served in a sizzling skillet and you should wash it down with whatever sake the chef recommends that day.

Some of the best most authentic Japanese food I've had. Lunch special ftw -- $10 for huge donburi w salad and soup. Ask for the spicy red pepper for some extra kick

To die for udon, sushi "tacos"- servers give great recommendations- ask them! The communal table up front is fun, but pass thro the kitchen and there's a whole cozy seating space + bar in back

The dipping style Kinoko Tsukcjil Udon- Cooked variety of mushrooms dipping sauce - is my go to favorite. Also. Never skip out on the black sesame ice cream for dessert. One of the best.

We always order the tempura to start. They have decent sushi. I personally like their "taco" spin though my husband doesn't. They have affordable lunch specials, too. This place is 1 of our staples.

The sushi tacos are pretty crazy. Mostly because the fish tastes super fresh but also because it's a Japanese taco. Can't go wrong.

Great udon and Gyoza. Don't be afraid to aggressively hail down the server - they are pretty absent minded and slow. Food should also come at the same time, not after one person has finished eating.

Food is fantastic, but service super nonchalant. A poor couple at the front of the wait line waited for 20 minutes without being spoken to, so eventually left. Spice bukkake was great.
