The Sazerac Bar claims to serve the only authentic Ramos Gin Fizz in town. It was apparently Governor Huey P. Long’s favorite drink. Read more

Great place for a classic Whisky cocktail - next time you order a manhattan, go for "dry" or "perfect" - subs/cuts the sweet vermouth with dry vermouth instead. A completely different cocktail.

Tony and Davis Rogan enjoy a few signature cocktails and an ambience that harkens to an older time. Named after the world’s first mixed drink, Sazerac has as much history and lore as its namesake.

Renowned historical bar inside the Roosevelt Hotel. Open since the 1930s, The Sazerac is now The Official Cocktail of New Orleans, and this is the best place to try it. My fave is The Ramos Gin Fizz.

Pay homage to this bar's namesake with a toast to what many believe is the first cocktail in America. This bar inside the Roosevelt Hotel has an elegant upscale vibe perfect for a date night spot.

One word. Classy. One of the best Old Fashioned's I've ever had. Dress up. Bring a date. Step back in time a little.

Excellent destination: handcrafted cocktails and a knowledgeable bartender. We especially enjoyed the Blood Orange Sunset the Southern Gentleman and the Texas Mule. It's an experience not just a bar.

The gin fizz is amazing. It's creamy without having any milk in it. And very easy to drink!

Ramos Gin Fizz is a must. Classic bar with beautiful hotel. Artwork is dated and fairly inappropriate for modern day. Drinks are spot on.

Even though the Sazerac is New Orleans' official cocktail, I wouldn't say it was my favorite - but they do make some awesome Bellini-s 👍

Yes, the gin fizz is great. Try the Hot Buttered Rum in winter, though! It's like liquid Christmas. Not too sweet, not too strong...just PERFECT!

In spite of its history, this is not the best place to taste the classics, but worth seeing the 1930’s WPA-era murals by artist Paul Nina.
