“Dinner at Skál…can feel surreal. The owner, Oli Bjorn Stephensen, designed the place to evoke a baðstofa, the communal living-and-sleeping room in the grass-covered cottages of his native Iceland.” Read more

Critics and foodies are buzzing about the inspired New Nordic fare from chef Ben Spiegel. Highlights include beef tartare, the confit duck wings, and the hanger steak.

The menu changes with the season, but their meat and seafood dishes are great -- nice complex flavors, well balanced and with accessible New Nordic touches. I loved the pork belly & scallops.

Such a gem. Loved the buttery monkfish, sous vide Berkshire pork, fried smelt, and insanely delish celery dessert. Do not leave the building without trying the broccoli (crispy, saucy, salty).

Was looking for a place to celebrate an Iceland trip reunion and this fit the bill perfectly. ++Delicious food - particularly scallops and pork belly. -- Wow, they are slow. Prepare to settle in.

This place is delicious, clever casual Scandinavian food. Go heavy on apps like charred broccoli, waygu, octopus. Great summer spot

Hip Scandinavian bar and restaurant undone by underwhelming food and poor service. But solid drinks at the bar—where the bartenders are friendly—has some appeal. Open until 3 or 4 a.m.

Probably definitely one of the best meals I've ever consumed. Raw beef. Lamb tongue sandwich. Monkfish. BEET ROOT DESSERT.

Go for the ginger boy cocktail. More herbal than syrupy and super tasty.

Love the outdoor seating. And the owner's dog, Super Max, is super cute and owns the sidewalk. ;)

Definitely try the drink "Gurka" meaning cucumber in most Nordic countries. Refreshing and lovely

Get the octopus starter. I could have eaten two of these and skipped the main.

The service is good. But unfortunately the food is underwhelming. Small portions, high prices. I went home n still had to eat chips.
