You can order drinks from a window near the spas instead of going into the café. If you enter the lake, the hot water is to the left, the right was freezing! Ask about their mud-baked rye bread too;)
It's the closest equivalent to a "Central Park" in Reykjavik, although honestly 9 out of 10 times you should just try and head out of the city for nature.

The croissants, cinnamon scrolls and the vanilla cinnamon pastry was amazing and fresh out of the oven. Friendly staff, reasonably prices, as good as a paris boulanger. A must try!!
Four words: rye bread ice cream. (Well, one word in Icelandic: rúgbrauðsís.) Get one of the tasting plates that includes it. The meat soup is also good if you want something hot.
Come for the spicy pumpkin soup and sourdogh bread - stay for the over the top pastries!
You can find so many interesting sea shells and stones, its beach was black. No need to go to Vík if you don't have free time.
Busiest weekend brunch in Reykjavík, but a good sign of quality. Get in early or a book a table for taco tuesday dinner. Arguably the best sourdough in Reykjavík, second to Sandholt.
Everything we had was so tasty. Chicken quesadilla, the lamb, the sticky toffee pudding. The menu goes in all kind of directions, but everything is made super tasty.

What a spectacular and beautiful meal. The lobster soup with scallop, apple, and cardamom should not be missed. We also loved the sushi. Thought it compared to sushi we’ve had in renowned spots.
Staple in Reykjavík. Only offers lamb dogs and they’re delicious! Ask for it with everything. Line moves quick.

Try to see it from different angles and go inside to not miss the just as spectacular view. It‘s highly recommended to pass by architect Olafur Eliasson‘s Reykjavik studio at Marshallhúsið.

Te & kaffi is the biggest coffee chain in Iceland (Read: Starbucks). They still do great coffee and differ from most of the other locations that they also have great selection of tea.
Great atmosphere, warm, stylish and welcoming bistro-style restaurant that takes influences from Scandinavian cuisine. For brunch I highly recommend the fresh catch of the day.
Really inventive menu. Cos with black garlic is simply amazing! All courses were really good though wine especially is rather pricey. We got a great view of the prep with the bar seating. Strong buy!
It costs an Icelandic fortune to eat here, but the food is phenomenal. Everything from interior to lights and service to dishes and lamb to salmon - it is all perfect.
Awesome record shop and independent label. Listen to some albums with the old school CD player in the back. Owner is really nice and offers you free espresso!

Don't let the name fool you - this is not a tourist trap, but rather a cosy, semi-upscale place w/ delicious food. The lamb and cod were excellent. Plus they have cool wall murals of different fish.
Small food hall but has some good options and decent happy specials that won’t burn a hole in your wallet.

So many Icelandic knitted sweaters! They are knitted in Iceland with wool from the local sheeps. It's expensive but you get 14% back in tax-free. Blankets, hats, gloves ++.The cheapest knitting place!
Cute cafe at the end of a busy street with plenty of outside seating. Great for a bite and some people watching. Soups were good, bread was awesome. People seem to like their coffees and deserts too.
Small & cosy. Delicious fresh-made waffles with caramel sauce & cream. Breakfast options generous & filling. Excellent decadent dessert options, including very good cheesecake. Order at the counter.
Foodie heaven of Akureyri. I had the monk fish and then the chefs selection for dessert. Worthy of one Michlin star by New York standards. Great view. Friendly staff. Leave room for dessert.
60% of the Blue Lagoon's price, though unlike that it doesn't include a towel, drink or mud mask. Water feels really silky. Smell isn't very strong. There's a hotter tub & steam rooms
The seafood was incredible! There's no menu because what's cooked is fresh caught each day, but everything was delicious. Definitely book in advance as they are extremely popular.
The best food in Iceland we have tried by far. The lamb shack is 10/10, to die for. The Skyr is to kill for. An awesome place with a unique view.
Much better hot spring than the blue lagoon. Go in the evening during sunset and stay a while. Go to the pizza place after.

The pool‘s not that remarkable but the surroundings are. The thermal springs were that close you could watch the geysir erupt while taking a bath. Unforgettable.
Get the all-you-can-eat bread (and be sure to get some olive bread) and tomato soup - top w/ sour cream & cucumber relish. Amazing how they are able to use the geothermal energy to run the greenhouse!
Excellent food and very good ice cream! Beef from the farm and lamb from the neighbour's farm...need I say anything else! Best food we had in Iceland!
The most magical place you never realized you were missing! You can play with the goats! Easily the highlight of any trip and well-wocth a detour.
Go for a dive here. It's great :-) You can see up to 150m in the 2°C warm :-) water between the american and the eurasian continental plates
Via Ring Road 1 towards Vik; the fields of lupins is about 3 km east of Skógar. They flower between May & early August depending on temperature.
Awesome abandoned DC-3. Specially if you are lucky enough to visit it without people.
The Icelandic Feast tasting menu was superb - a perfect balance between seafood and meat. The smoked puffin was my favorite dish of the 7 courses. The cocktails are also A+!
The portions are not the biggest you've ever seen, but their flavor leaves no-one wanting. The cured reindeer is especially good.
Absolutely delicious! Recommend hummus, falafel and flat bread followed by delicious grill dishes, particularly prawns. Great atmosphere and happy hour at 11pm. Really fun evening with great service!
Nice vibe at this casual counter restaurant with excellent food and affordable prices, definitely start your meal with the cod croquettes.
Pizzas are cheaper than other places I looked. A hipster / funky bar with a good selection cocktails starting at 1.500.isk. College or Uni students would feel right at home here
