    Great way to glimpse Hungary's history w/ authoritarian regimes. Cold basement w/ prisons gives a realistic sense of what went on here. Audio tour is good; ongoing music & visuals overwhelm at times.

    Fabulous place! You get special price for students but you have to be patient with exhibition which is in hungarian language. They have only sheets of information in English.

    Worth the visit .The whole experience is mind blowing and leaves you with great emotions .I recommend the audio tour which we didn’t get and felt sorry for .

    Interesting exhibits into the terror caused by fascist and stalinist regimes. The building is the former secret police HQ where a lot of the interrogation and torture took place.

    Fantastic, striking museum. Set aside the whole afternoon to ensure you aren't rushed. Get the audio tour if you don't want to read an A4 sheet of paper in every room.

    Somber museum recalling the horrors under the Nazi & Soviet regimes.The building was used for interrogations, torture and murder.Several floors have exhibits recalling both eras. Use the audio tour!

    Read a wikipedia page on this era before going. It was a little bit confusing if you're not familiar with Europe post WW2. But a massive museum & english writing at the beginning of all rooms

    In this museum you feel the atmosphere. The entire museum is interwoven with images and sounds, until it passes the eyesight. Definitely worth a visit.

    Key to understanding 20 century Hungarian history, the museum show how little difference there is between fascist and communist regimes. Must see.

    Really interesting museum. If you are English only it is more Hungarian friendly, however, the history is fascinating and the museum is very well done. It's an experience on its own.

    Decent information but the exhibits aren't that clearly presented in English so I feel I missed a lot. A lot of reading, Long lines, bottlenecks. Only ok, could have been better

    They did a great job seting up the museum in order to tell the history mainly of the soviet ocupation (and hungarian nazi party). we were not expecting much but ended up spending almost 2h there...

    It's possible to see everything in about an hour, but for the full experience rent the audio guide and take your time

    Something worth seeing. It helps understand how the Nazis and Soviets were sides of the same coin. I am deeply concerned convinced everyone should visit this house.

    The House of Terror, located near Oktogon, on Andrássy Avenue, contains exhibits realted to the fascist and communist regimes of the 20th century while also commemorating the victims of said regimes.

    Brings to life the Nazi and Soviet influence in Hungary during the 1940s and 1950s. None of the exhibits have English captions, though, so the museum is difficult to follow at times.

    The Rick Steves Budapest book does a good job describing each of the rooms. You can skip the audio guide if you have the book.

    Nice museum, good exhibitions, especially the cells are impressive. They should put more explnations in English. No photography inside the museum. Entrance costs 2000 Forint.

    Very educational but rather difficult to understand everything since 99% is in Hongarian... They do provide English information on sheets of paper but this is without any chronological order at all

    Make sure to get the guided or audio tour if you don't speak Magyar. Most of the stuff is only in Magyar. The audio guides are very helpful. A must visit when you are in Budapest.

    Get an audio guide (if there is one?) as English info is shared by way of 15 pages or so of loose printed info sheets. Worth a visit but the lack of context in any of the displays is confusing

    Provides a biased look. If you read some soviet history you can't take that seriously. Too much unnecessary emotions are added in booklets. Phone records and some items are not translated in English
