    It's where the politicos are shaking in Texas, well, at least for 90 days every other year. And the dome is 6 ft higher than the U.S. Capitol!

    The largest state capitol building in the United States, the Texas Capitol was constructed from 1882-1888. It is built of limestone and pink granite. The granite came from nearby Marble Falls.

    We like the Capitol grounds, beautiful place and the kids love running and rolling on the grass at any time of the year. The Christmas Caroling event is a nice one for the entire family.

    Really cool views from the dome and the grounds are really beautiful! Don't try to take a picture with George Bushs portrait, you will get yelled at.

    Head on in and look around. It's especially cool after sunset. You will have to go through security first, but the guards have cool hats so it's fun.
