- My favorite bar in Williamsburg. Gorgeous atmosphere, delicious cocktails, great service & tasty bar snacks. Go downstairs for a darker, sexier feel and DJs spinning house or hiphop on the weekends.
- Victoria U.May 31, 2015Not too crowded. Great music and solid drinks. A solid alternative when The Whiskey is too packed.

- Chris PetesciaAugust 8, 2015The rosemary croutons carried us in from the street like Toucan Sam. Incredible mocktail for the preg wife and LOVED the Salt & Ash cocktail.
- New York PostFebruary 26, 2013The monthly house and disco night Resonate in the basement is a cult success, and at a $5 cover fee, it won’t break the bank. Or order deviled eggs at the bar ($3 to $4) — there are 3 different kinds. Read more
- MoonOctober 22, 2011The basement bar is really great. On Fridays tends to be lightly populated - which makes for a fantastic chill experience with a good DJ and a tight mixologist quite competently co-piloting the night.
- Andrew RowleyMay 23, 2014If you want a real bartender who really knows what they're doing, this is the place to be. Mike, for example, sounds like he lives liquor, but not in the way that dude asleep in your hallway.
- Aside from it being a great space in general, the thing I admire the most about The Counting Room is that the bartenders actually give a sh*t about mixing drinks. Impressive cocktails, fairly priced.
- Johanna EvansNovember 2, 2014Go for the salt & ash cocktail. Perfectly balanced mix of grapefruit infused tequila, vermouth, and mezcal. Yum!
- Jesse GillMay 30, 2015This place has the best vocal-fry this side of the east river. Highly recommend if that's what you're into. 👌
- Devils on Horseback. Paninis and Jenga. A go-to spot, also great for waiting for Brooklyn Bowl or Gutter.
- ChelseaSeptember 26, 2014Love the atmosphere here. Great cocktails. Nice for a date upstairs or a dance party downstairs.
- Aaron BergerAugust 16, 2012Every once in a while they'll get world famous djs to play downstairs. If you're lucky enough to hear about one it's worth the $5 cover charge.
- Mike's the man, killer whiskey drinks with a creative bent. Super nice guy too.
- jin kimAugust 22, 2012Reverend Horton Heat, Come by on Mondays to check out bartender Maks Pazuniak's experimental cocktail series "Something Like This." Starting at 9pm

- CasieApril 6, 2014Take the time to look up what a 'counting room' actually is and then impress your friends with your knowledge-dropping.
- Ava LuSeptember 6, 2011definitely try the blinker (cocktail) very strong but good. I like the transmission from space but the ginger is a bit strong so do use the lime they give you,

- Dominic ButchelloDecember 30, 2012A bit expensive, but one of the best Old Fashioneds I've had in the city.
- Melanie TravisDecember 29, 2012Order a pickle back. The pickle juice is fresh. It burns the throat and feels amazing.
- Kathryn YuAugust 9, 2010Maks is at the bar Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Monday. Ask for a Salt and Ash or bartender's choice.
- Don MillerNovember 9, 2012Try the Salt and Ash. Tastes like salt and ash - or the inside of your grandfather's leather suitcase.
- Marideny TavarezJanuary 3, 2016Was there on Christmas night. Forgot the bartenders name but he was really nice.
- tendencyOctober 22, 2011The devilled eggs are unparalleled. The drinks are beyond compare. I can't believe how few people know about this place?
- Hey guys/employees, if we are accepting $9/drink as the price point, maybe let's try to be slightly less obnoxious about it when someone is ordering a drink.
- Chad MillerApril 9, 2010Go right for the Counting Room Grilled Cheese. It's made with fresh garlic, thyme, fontina, and truffle oil. Wash it down with a nice Riesling. Read more
