- Time Out New YorkAugust 2, 2014This West Village institution is the best bar to sing solo in front of strangers. Just scrawl your name and request on a napkin and leave it atop the baby grand for the live pianist. Read moreUpvoted 1 week ago
- MichalAugust 12, 2013Extremely friendly and funny staff, great music, great singing. I was there on Sunday night and it was half full. I went alone but a guy talked to me at a bar so it was not boring at all.
- The Corcoran GroupJuly 9, 2011A staple in the West Village. Come here for a good drink outside, or sit at the bar and chat with the bartender, or take in a good musical review or comedy show.Upvoted 3 weeks ago

- Joseph T. McMahon IVMarch 31, 2011My favorite bar/ lounge, period. No pressure etc. Great crowd n environment. If you want to have a fun, chill time with or w/o friends, what are you waiting for? Joey <3
- Michelle WilesNovember 5, 2016Show tunes are great, lively environment. And they serve mini bottles of champagne !
- Colvis WaltersNovember 17, 2015The performers are always great. This is one of my favorite bars in the West Village. The have a small theatre upstairs with lots of great productions.
- Skyler DobinFebruary 16, 2015Kind of gay. Kind of amazing. Live piano jams and singalongs. Very friendly bar staff/entertainers. Unassuming upstairs bar with unisex bathrooms and a bowl full of condoms.
- Daniel L.January 1, 2013The upstairs bar is a convenient and quieter place to catch up with an old friend over a drink (or 3). Most nights it's like you have the place to yourself!
- Head upstairs on Wednesdays after 9pm for "inbox"! Great music, awesome drink specials, and maybe catch some boy band trivia or love talk n slow jams! FREE
- AntonyFebruary 3A much friendlier vibe than Marie's Crisis cafe. I wish I came here first. Nice staff, nice vibe and they take card payment.

- It's not really a gay bar anymore during the peak times. Still can be a great spot. Can someone remind the straight people to sing?
- Come see Andy on the keys on Monday nights. Great bartenders. Catch the afternoon sun with their well placed outdoor seating.
- The Corcoran GroupDecember 18, 2011Sit at the bar downstairs and get sloshed while a comedian heckles you. Or go upstairs for a wonderfully fun cabaret act.
- Sit all the way down front or on the way back at the Thomas table. Those are the better seats.
- Come for the Sunday Happy Hour. Sam is great behind the bar and Will is amazing at the piano!! Good times!!
- Amazing piano bar downstairs with live music and a cast of crazies. Best time!
- Cin LuAugust 16, 2013Def such a fun spot. Best piano bar I've ever been to. The performer was amaaaaze.
- Piano bar 7 nights a week! Open 365 days of the year 4-4 shows almost every night. Check www.theduplex.com for cabaret schedule. "Like" us on Facebook!
- Jackson IsaacsonJune 27, 2015Extremely strong drinks upstairs. A double is more like a triple. And a fun mix of people.
- Come by on Monday nights to hear Andy play piano! If you sing, he might even let you come up and join.
- Douglas KrukoffDecember 31, 2015The bartender on the 1st floor tonight (12/30/15) was so rude and got mad that we asked the price of house drinks/told the bartender upstairs to not serve us. Then the manager has no authority over it
- Andy plays piano on Mondays during happy hour, and he's amazing. Also, he's super cute! Go see him!
- Happiest place in the Village. Great staff and live music!
- I love seeing the Resignos and Colleen McHugh, here. But, my favorite show, Hands down, is the Meeting with Justin Sayre.
- Patrick HayesAugust 25, 2012Fantastic patio. But watch out, the gratuity is already included with your bill.
- JaseNovember 15, 2010Order a Blue Thunder at get a seat up front near the piano. You might get lucky and see a pair of Dollies.
