- Cynthia LinFebruary 28, 2017The chicken and rice empire's platter is a buck or two more expensive now but still a value. Lamb > chicken
- KristiaMarie Pastor BalatbatJuly 14, 2015Chicken and Lamb combo. Hot sauce is super hot, so taste it before you add too much. Don't skimp on white sauce!
- Alaa ShakerAugust 18, 2014Gigantic for the price you pay, and DELICIOUS!!! Getting a meal there is as important as any other NYC must-see attraction.
- Be careful everyone. There are impostors who have setup shop on the corner of W53rd & 6th (across from the hotel) who use the same color scheme, same bags, and almost the same logo as The Halal Guys!
- Oscar MerinoAugust 11, 2010Great spot. Food is fresh and very tasty. I've eaten here last three times I was in NY and it was consistently good. Will go back, don't care what the haters below say, just a bunch of salty people
- Serious EatsMarch 11, 2013For a shorter line and even better food, visit their 52nd Street & Sixth Avenue cart during the day--beats the original.
- Kylie JayOctober 4, 2014The best halal street carts in NYC. The long lines are there for a reason. Get the white sauce. Lots and lots of it

- HashtagNYUJuly 7, 2016Get the lamb (or chicken) over rice and enjoy the people watching. The entertainment usually begins around 11PM.
- Eug KOctober 22, 2017Not a fan of the chicken, gets a bit dry, but everything else is wonderful. Beware of the hot sauce. If you can’t handle spicy it’ll ruin your meal, day, and next morning. 😉
- Alex RobertsonMay 22, 2017Cash only (duh?), seven bucks for a rice plate and five bucks for a sandwich. Great rice and pita. These days I can only eat about half before I get sick of it, though.

- Sean MOctober 11, 2010Worth taking the trip from NJ on late drunken nights. chicken/lamb combo is good.use excessive white sauce w/ a little BBQ. you won't regret it. But you will if you accidentally put hot sauce instead.
- Great food. Don't forget the hot sauce but go easy at first.
- Terence ChanJuly 18, 2015There's usually a shorter line on the 7th Ave and W 53rd St side. Chicken was dry and lacked flavor so stick to just lamb. Can't beat the value proposition here for $7. 4/5
- PSeptember 22, 2012The other guys (with the same tshirts and bags) are the same company. BUT they usually forget to put everything the original stand does, like lettuce, or falafel if you get veggie.
- Lamb and rice platter! At least two white sauces to go and quarter of one hot sauce (if like spicy). *BEWARE of hot sauce! Extremely hot (and not just saying that. Proceed with caution. =o)
- Christine D.January 2, 2015The chicken and lamb are equally good! Go for the combo plate and ask for extra white sauce!
- MarkMarch 7, 2013Get a rice dish if you are hungry. They give you a ton of food. Otherwise, just have a sandwich. Look for the yellow bags, the impostors have white bags.
- Combo plate with extra sauce is always a winner. Be careful with the red sauce though...
- So good! They never give enough spicy sauce though! Make sure you stop by if you're in New York :)
