- Cynthia LinFebruary 28, 2017The chicken and rice empire's platter is a buck or two more expensive now but still a value. Lamb > chicken
- Alan TangMarch 28, 2013All 3 carts with dudes wearing yellow hoodies are related. I thought it was only the cart directly across from the hilton. Good to know when that line is huge
- freesyayaAugust 22, 2014Gyro sandwiches and rise gyro bowls are awesome with white sauce and hot sauce together!
- The line across the street is much shorter. Same guys, same great food. Get with it people.
- ReemOJuly 27, 2015Founded by Mohammed Abouelenein in 1990 as a hot dog cart. In 1992 they changed the business to be as it's today. Overrated food thus!
- MarkMarch 7, 2013Get a rice dish if you are hungry. They give you a ton of food. Otherwise, just have a sandwich. Look for the yellow bags, the impostors have white bags.
- Risika NyxMarch 21, 2014There's usually at least one other halal truck in the area. Look for the line of people to find the real one ;)
- Armand D.March 23, 2013Great, fresh food. I like the chicken and lamb combo over rice with falafel balls and chopped pita. Amazing!
- Krista SAugust 13, 2011Best food to get after a night out clubbing! Get the mixed plate, no veggies, extra pita. White sauce, some bbq and a tinge of hot sauce. Bangin'
- Léna Le RollandNovember 28, 2017Finally gave them a shot and I have to admit... it’s good!!! Go for it
- HashtagNYUJuly 7, 2016Get the lamb (or chicken) over rice and enjoy the people watching. The entertainment usually begins around 11PM.
- Combo over rice is so good especially for that price!
- Go to the one on W 53rd & 7th. There is rarely any line and if there is the line is much shorter than both 53rd & 6th locations.
- Craig TurpinOctober 12, 2011Opt out of the lettuce and double down on yellow rice from the gods and the best damn gyro meat on 6th. Plus get the hot sauce cuz you want the pain! Read more
- Sean MOctober 11, 2010Worth taking the trip from NJ on late drunken nights. chicken/lamb combo is good.use excessive white sauce w/ a little BBQ. you won't regret it. But you will if you accidentally put hot sauce instead.
- The BEST halal food NYC has to offer. Load up on the white sauce. You won't regret it.
- Combo plate with extra sauce is always a winner. Be careful with the red sauce though...
- Camille LJune 20, 2015If you're in New York and out past midnight stop by to get some delicious street meat!
- Christopher ThomasJuly 24, 2012Maybe changing the name of this place on Foursquare to it's actual name (The Halal Guys) and noting its actual corner (SE) would help people find it when you are lucky to not see a line.
- Eric WagnerMarch 31, 2013If you're here during the day then you're probably at the imposter cart i.e. "New York's Best Halal Food". Still good but just sayin'.
- Vivienne ZhouJune 16, 2015The spicy sauce is really really hot! Be careful! But food is really good!
- AVDecember 31, 2016Make sure you find these guys. Cue long lines and the phrase "we are different". Someone's round the block under the name Halal Guy's.
- Nathan KamMay 20, 2012You need this! Seriously. Cheap an delicious street food. The gyro with white and hot sauce for $4 is a winner!
- Best street meat in Manhattan. Get it without rice for get more meat. 🐏🐔
- Peter GrubbMarch 15, 2015There is No Other Hallal. If you want good drinking food without the excess peppers and onions for a great price; you find yourself here.
- Kate O'NeillJune 24, 2016The falafel balls were a little too hard and over-fried, and the rice was dry. If you're into the white sauce (I'm not), try adding a lot of that — it'll probably help.
- Monica KongJune 9, 2015Gyros lamb and chicken with rice was awesome..... and its cheap with huge portion
- Stephen Roy ImantakaApril 5, 2014The best rice meals in NYC! Normally I hate to eat lamb, but this one tastes really great.
- BLOC ConciergeNovember 15, 2011The Halal Guys on 53rd St and 6th Ave serve up the best street meat in NYC! Look for the yellow bags and T's and you are at the right cart.
- Dan SamekSeptember 13, 2019There is usually queue and it's for good reason. Very cheap and great food.
- Robert WeisbergNovember 24, 2013It's great. Long line but it moves fast . Be careful of the hot sauce or get it on the side because I understand its very hot
- Crystal HarrisonJune 11, 2014Most food for the money. Not much flavor though, need to smother it in white sauce! $6 for most options, tons of food! Long lines, but the move quickly!
- Gizem TabakMarch 28, 2015Mixed gyro tastes good. White sauce is a must but hot sauce is terrible although I had just 5 drops. Either the sauce or the food itself made my stomach hurt all night.
- Vivian WangJuly 5, 2015OG combo over rice. The wait is worth is and don't get fooled by imposters nearby!
- FathomFebruary 6, 2017Food tastes delicious. Especially with white sauce. Try a combo of chicken and lamb
- The Best Halal in the city! Need I say more? Yes, exaggerate on the white sauce.
- SeoungMay 30, 2010Get the combo! Lamb is gyro meat and it's amazing! The hot sauce super hot so ask for light on the red sauce if u can't handle hot. They are other carts near hear but this is the best one.
- Shyla D.August 16, 2013Best halal cart in town. The line speaks to how awesome this food is and t moves quick!
- Terence ChanJuly 18, 2015There's usually a shorter line on the 7th Ave and W 53rd St side. Chicken was dry and lacked flavor so stick to just lamb. Can't beat the value proposition here for $7. 4/5
- Anthony HernandezJanuary 8, 2012Don't let the lines food you. There are two of the exact same carts on both sides of 6th! The food is orgasmic and the white sauce is like crack!
- Satish DhanalakotiAugust 16, 2014Awesome halal kaat food. Everytym am in NYC, i have this food..:) Extremely delicious...
