- Robert WeisbergNovember 24, 2013It's great. Long line but it moves fast . Be careful of the hot sauce or get it on the side because I understand its very hot
- Armand D.March 23, 2013Great, fresh food. I like the chicken and lamb combo over rice with falafel balls and chopped pita. Amazing!
- Krista SAugust 13, 2011Best food to get after a night out clubbing! Get the mixed plate, no veggies, extra pita. White sauce, some bbq and a tinge of hot sauce. Bangin'
- freesyayaAugust 22, 2014Gyro sandwiches and rise gyro bowls are awesome with white sauce and hot sauce together!
- René ShauanJanuary 4, 2014Saw the long line late one night and knew I had to try it. Tried the Chicken over rice with HOT sauce.... 2 days later. Great food.
- Gizem TabakMarch 28, 2015Mixed gyro tastes good. White sauce is a must but hot sauce is terrible although I had just 5 drops. Either the sauce or the food itself made my stomach hurt all night.
- Go to the one on W 53rd & 7th. There is rarely any line and if there is the line is much shorter than both 53rd & 6th locations.
- Combo over rice is so good especially for that price!
- Crystal HarrisonJune 11, 2014Most food for the money. Not much flavor though, need to smother it in white sauce! $6 for most options, tons of food! Long lines, but the move quickly!
- YUM! From LA here but this is a must-visit food cart each time I visit! Get the mixed platter and drench it in that delicious white sauce!
- Hands down the best food cart in NY. You'll know the place by the long lines.
- The line across the street is much shorter. Same guys, same great food. Get with it people.
- ReemOJuly 27, 2015Founded by Mohammed Abouelenein in 1990 as a hot dog cart. In 1992 they changed the business to be as it's today. Overrated food thus!
- Anthony HernandezJanuary 8, 2012Don't let the lines food you. There are two of the exact same carts on both sides of 6th! The food is orgasmic and the white sauce is like crack!
- HelenOctober 24, 2014Always a line. Good but Sammy's halal cart on Jackson/Roosevelt is more authentic and delicious.
- muh queJuly 27, 2013For people who do not know, there was a business split and the original halal guys moved to 52nd street and 6th avenue. Try getting food from there, its really the best.
- LANMarch 27, 2011THE BEST halal cart in the city. especially after a night of clubbing and when intoxicated. The line WILL be long, even 3am in morning, but it moves.
- If you have to take it to go, pour 1 red sauce into 1 white sauce container, shake it up and I promise you, the proportion will always be perfect
- Kate O'NeillJune 24, 2016The falafel balls were a little too hard and over-fried, and the rice was dry. If you're into the white sauce (I'm not), try adding a lot of that — it'll probably help.
- Eric WagnerMarch 31, 2013If you're here during the day then you're probably at the imposter cart i.e. "New York's Best Halal Food". Still good but just sayin'.
- Stephen Roy ImantakaApril 5, 2014The best rice meals in NYC! Normally I hate to eat lamb, but this one tastes really great.
- Declan LeowDecember 17, 2015Biz getting gd n attitude gettin bad. operator of the halal guys are getting so arrogant. Was buying the chicken over rice for take away and ask for extra sauce, they ignored me.
- Strawberry B..March 17, 2013All the Gypsys love this place, we kinda made it famous , it is the BEST!!!! Love the red & white sauce. B-)
- If the main cart has a long line, the halal guys cart across the street and on 53rd and 7th are normally quicker
- During the day time hours they have their carts on the opposite street and one on 53rd and 7th which I got to. Completely empty during the day.
- MaulikJune 27, 2010Absolutely amazing. Esp when you're starving at 4am. Talk your cabbie into ordering ahead and you won't have to wait in line. White sauce rocks but the red sauce is lethal. Damn hot.
- The BEST halal food NYC has to offer. Load up on the white sauce. You won't regret it.
- Risika NyxMarch 21, 2014There's usually at least one other halal truck in the area. Look for the line of people to find the real one ;)
- Shyla D.August 16, 2013Best halal cart in town. The line speaks to how awesome this food is and t moves quick!
- Erica RoccoMarch 15, 2012Go here for no line, but the same great food as across the street. I could probably drink the white sauce it's so good!
- Declan LeowDecember 17, 2015Biz gettin gd n attitude gettin bad. Operator of d cart were rude. Ordered take away n ask for extra sauce but they ignore u n when tryin 2 add more sauce from bottle, they disallow. My last visit ever

- Khoa LeDecember 21, 20091 of the best meals in NY is served on the street. Get TWO gyros because you'll regret only getting 1 and don't turn down the "hote sose." For some reason ALL the gyro stands in NY are ONLY found here
- Mike FriedlichOctober 18, 2016The food was very good, especially the portion size considering the price, but I wasnt blown away by it given the hype. Also, as I finished it was getting kind of cold.
- Monica KongJune 9, 2015Gyros lamb and chicken with rice was awesome..... and its cheap with huge portion
- lorenzo raferJanuary 9, 2010the best way to eat the hot sauce is to get a hot sauce tub, dip your fork in the tub, and eat. you get the hot sauce taste and a little buzz so you don't die form the heat!
- The Best Halal in the city! Need I say more? Yes, exaggerate on the white sauce.
- Vivienne ZhouJune 16, 2015The spicy sauce is really really hot! Be careful! But food is really good!
