- TomAugust 20, 2016Same guys from midtown but in a brick and mortar store. Similar offering. Head to the back to order then bring to the side to pay. My go to is the small combo plater. $1 gets you the bigger platter.
- The best. The famous spot from 53rd & 6th now has a brick & mortar place in the East Village. Chicken plate with white sauce and as much spicy red sauce as your taste buds can handle.
- Jonathan L.May 21, 2015Great business choice to set up a store front for those who are leary of "roach coaches". The small platter is more than enough for one person, they give you A LOT of food for only $6
- RDecember 26, 2019Cheap but extremely delicious. Regular platter can be shared by 2 people. Be careful of the red sauce it was incredibly hot 🥵
- Leah LiDecember 11, 2014I prefer the chicken over the lamb, but get combo if you want to try both. Be sure to ask for extra white sauce (no regrets) and must try the BBQ sauce!!! Even if you're not usually a fan, it's great.
- Noah XifrJune 19, 2015Besides their hallmark version of halal street meat... They have multiple outlets along the side wall. Perfect for a charge up while you fuel up situation.
- Salman AlissaJune 9, 2019Amazing different style of Shawarma! White sauce is special! Be careful of the red sauce, it’s really hot!
- Yasaman MahdianAugust 29, 2018I like their food! Specially with white sauce. Big portions and fairly priced.
- Clifford LuAugust 6, 2016Awesome for late night food! Very tasty. Definitely a munchies slayer. If your super hungry, get the combo platter with everything!
- Mike WinstonSeptember 30, 2013The new outpost of the Famous Halal Guys street meat in the East Village!! I definitely prefer the gyro meat to the chicken. No line and crazy-spicy red sauce! Read more
- Bilawal HameedFebruary 22, 2017It's the thing you do in New York. Halal guys is ubiquitous with millennials in NYC. Cheap, good and fast food with lots of protein.
- Kimmie OhhJune 30, 2020Drown your chicken & rice with the hot sauce. Add bit of their hot sauce as it’s killer! Glad they have a brick & mortar store but the food carts hit different.
- Open late, great for a craving, they accept card. They give much less food than the cart and can sometimes have an attitude at checkout when wanting to use your rewards card.
- Finally the cart has rolled downtown! This is wonderful news but dangerous to have it so close by. But perfect when you're craving some chicken and lamb on rice at 3:00 AM.
- Ali RasouliSeptember 28, 2013And so the battle between the two titans of NYC halal beings. The local, Hamed's Food Truck on 11th and 1st, versus the renowned, The Halal Guys, natives of midtown. Where does your allegiance lay?
- Julie SosciaJanuary 27, 2019Some of the best street food you can have! Try the chicken or lamb, or mix both and add the red and white sauces!
- One of the best places to get a late night meal in the east village, make sure you get the chicken and lamb combo drowned in the white sauce.
- Ryan KhourySeptember 23, 2016With a friend roll up and snag a combo. White sauce is critical and if you go for the red as well make sure you mix well. That stuff is hot.
- Kevin VengOctober 21, 2015You've had hotsauce before? Well, not before you tried this one! I ended up sitting there crying like a little baby trying to finish my plate! And it did hurt very much the day after too!
- Always delicious, just like the truck. Quick and clean food that you can also take to a lot of nearby beer spots to eat and have a beer.
- Tabitha JohnsonAugust 14, 2016Tastes like the cart, if you aren't close to their original location, this will work. Get a platter with tons of white sauce. Be careful with the hot sauce.
- Joey TApril 2, 2016Unlike their carts, you can order a small size for their rice dishes. But you might as well get the regular size for a couple dollars more!
- Julie SosciaAugust 1, 2018Some of the best street food you can have! Try the chicken and add the red and white sauces!
- SusumuJuly 7, 2016Good halal food that will make you really full. The seats are limited, but there is a park nearby.
- HeenaAugust 9, 2014Good for non-veg drunk food. Across from artichoke for the vegetarians. This location takes cc, has more options. Hot sauce and white sauce is must per Hubster.
- delicious, and insanely good value. be wary of the spicy red sauce - go easy your first time trying it.
- DoniaAugust 7, 2014Make sure you're going to the right Halal Guys. They are all yellow w/ a big flag. There's one with a smaller line at 53rd & 7th too
- Gabriel AGJuly 29, 2016If you're of fan of spicy the red sauce is heaven, even then I'd say watch yourself or you'll end up spitting fire!
- Sankofa TafariFebruary 28, 2018My customers seem to love it. I haven’t had a chance cause everytime I’m there I’m working #kingofcoffeenyc #lionofthebx #sankofatafari
- Don't feel like trekking to Rockefeller? The legendary 53rd & 6th street meat crew has come to the Village. Use red sauce at your own peril.
- Ina LiJanuary 14, 2015Authentic New York spirit in the warmth! Extra hot hot sauce need to watch out.
- Red sauce is spicy as fuck. Chicken is surprisingly moist / crunchy, lamb is bomb, don't bother with the falafel - your drunk self will thank me later.
- Matt EdwardsJanuary 5, 2016Get the regular platter. Can squeeze two meals out of it. Don't be a hero with the red sauce.
- Justin GaudenziFebruary 27, 2016Chicken over rice, white and hot sauces, be careful with the hot sauce, hardos will not take heed of this warning and ruin their meal/their next trip to the toilet
- Evan StaffOctober 14, 2015Get your sauce on the side, lest they make it rain a little too hard. Your digestive system will thank you!
- Andrew CerdaApril 9, 2014Extra (free) red and white sauce are in a metal cooler attached to the cart. Just lift the lid, grab and go!
- Josh FerryFebruary 3, 2017Great food that's very reasonably priced. Come at 2am Ann be prepared to wait!
- obsessed with the small combo platter + extra red (hot) sauce on the side
- Sweta MohapatraSeptember 6, 2015Tasty, cheap, and open late. Beware the spicy sauce though, they really mean it when they say spicy
- Julius TarngNovember 25, 2014Large chicken and rice, white sauce. Get that red stuff away from me. Takes cards!
- Ask for no salad (easier to reheat). Also ask for little white sauce (I think they normally put too much) and extra red sauce if you agree that food should be moderately painful.
- Anoop RanganathAugust 13, 2014The same guys who run the cart on 53rd and 6th have opened up a storefront. Additional menu items, too!
- Victor HuangJune 2, 2014Get the mixed combo so you can get lamb and chicken. Only a little hot sauce. It's hot!
- Ashley ChenJuly 7, 2015Come here slightly drunk and then get three lines of the hot sauce for a humbling experience
- Tom JosephMay 10, 2015The falafel is good rather than great but a platter makes for a cheap tasty meal
- David DavisOctober 14, 2013Awesome food and cheap prices. Go easy on the spicy sauce if you're a lightweight. That stuff is HOT!
- Great late night spot, but if it's a weekend you might have to wait on a very long line
