- Comfort food and cocktails executed perfectly (and unpretentiously). One of the best burgers I've ever had, plus fried cheese curds. #FoursquareFind
- Bin YangMarch 29, 2016Brunch on Sunday's only! Get the burger or the egg sandwich (obviously with the bacon wheel). Both uses a soft toasted brioche bun and comes with unbelievably crisp fries (a little salty but whatevs)Upvoted 2 weeks ago
- What a gem. You can't go wrong with any of the cocktails (although the white negroni was my favorite). The cheese curds, trout roe, and burger were all delicious. I can't wait to come back.
- J CrowleyJanuary 31, 2014Loving the 1950's ambiance. Fully expecting Biff Tanner to walk through the door and offer me a knuckle sandwich. Recommend the bourbon old fashioned - served proper with one giant ice cube.
- LilyMay 3, 2017Lucky Peach: "The edible stuff is too good to call 'bar food.' Like the cheese curds, molten and crisp, or the french fries. There’s also an excellent hamburger. And yes, the drinks are very good."

- Celine GallianoFebruary 22, 2019Burger is amazing! Double patties and melted cheese and some bacon. Our new favorite in the neighborhood. French fries are kind of spicy, not the regular. I like that less but it’s a matter of taste
- Emily WilsonJuly 21, 2017Classic, no-fuss, old-school spot with very good cocktails (Dolores Del Rio, The Erin), and very good food. You want the very good Long Island burger, which comes with very good fries.
- jake furstJanuary 31, 2014Carefully restored to its art deco glory, this spot reopened looking exactly how it must have in the 1940's. They pour a great cocktail and full kitchen opens mid-February. Order a Boulevardier. Read more
- s vJune 7, 2017(Thrillist tip) Bar owner Toby Cecchini is best known for inventing the Cosmo, but won't find on the menu...post up w/a classic Boulevardier served in a coupe glass & one of the borough's best burgers
- Daniel McDonoughSeptember 5, 201450's style diner decor that serves up good cocktails. Try the Old Fashioned. It's good. 2in clear ice cubes get me every time.
- a fine retreat! elegant cocktails with a clarity of composition and intent. nostalgic decor has a relaxed vibe that's managed to withstand the onslaught of poseurs, which come with greater popularity.
- Magdalena HollandApril 30, 2018The vibe, cocktails, staff...pretty well put together establishment. Their Jameson, and beer selection is very on point. Try the cocktails. Delicious.
- Michelle WendyJanuary 13, 2014They serve up classy classic cocktails at 12 bucks a pop. LI Gimlet packs a punch. They are still looking for a chef to run their kitchen but anticipate food service to begin in Feb. Here's hoping!
- Frank L.October 19, 2013Great neighborhood cocktail bar. Straightforward drink menu. Solid bartenders. The gimlet is great, though very tart. Not a scene yet, but that'll change once the word gets out.
- I have never been to a bar in NYC (possibly anywhere) where the staff was so kind. And, oh yeah, their drinks are top notch. This is the bar of dreams.
- Must order: the Boulevardier. Din: The trout or merguez. When you draaaank too much: Amaze fries & The Long Island "bar".
- Pramod PaiMay 8, 2015The drink menu is the brainchild of Cecchni whose famous for pioneering the Cosmopolitan at the Odeon in the 80's, are perfectly straightforward and classic. Read more
- This place is like stepping into the 50s, in the best way possible. Order one of the many excellent cocktails.
- Lauren HansenMarch 29, 2015Good service, nice setup, clean bathrooms, polite staff. Only con amongst all these pros was the drink I ordered - the espresso float was kind of strange and not as tasty as I'd hoped.
- Great cocktails and menu with unexpected veggie options, like tasty buffalo cauliflower "wings" with blue cheese.
- Really great cocktails and surprisingly good food given the limited menu. Best boulevardier was had here.
- Varun ShettyApril 5, 2014The outside will have you expecting milk shakes and grilled cheeses, but jump inside and grab an old fashioned in an old school diner.
- Good strong Manhattans, cozy booths. This place has character.
- Giovanni Bryden RosasMarch 10, 2017This place is a gem but you knew that already. Don't be afraid to go off menu.
- Adela MouSeptember 30, 2020The burger is so good here! But those cheese curds will be on my mind for awhile.
- Eric HAugust 9, 2014Classic cocktails in a classy (but by no means pretentious) setting...bartenders are some of the best in the biz.
- Wesley VerhoeveAugust 15, 2014The food is good and plentiful, but about $4 too expensive per dish. Nice old time vibe, good staff.
- The bartenders know how to make a martini. Also, they put a wheel of bacon on the burger. How can you go wrong?
- Get the double patty, you won’t regret it. Single is too little meat for the bun
- CharlottesJune 13, 2017What a gem of a place, with super fine cocktails, sleek bar, comfy booths and one helluva burger
- Saif DiaJune 10, 2017Unique burger, worth getting if you're hungry. Also, make sure you get a cocktail.
- 100% get the Improved Pendennis Club. Unsure but this also might've been the burger I've ever experienced.
- Dov Lebowitz-NowakNovember 1, 2013Left the interior exactly as I remember it being when I was growing up. nice restoration. Great cocktails; can't wait for them to start serving food...
- Lovingly restored 1950's Bar. Gimlets rule. Bartenders rock. Great place for drinks.
- Ryan KMarch 16, 2014Acoustic tile ceiling isn't that attractive, but makes it pleasantly not too loud. For once, a bar where you can have a conversation without yelling.
- jake furstJanuary 30, 2015carrot salad and a LI Burger with a Boulevardier to sip on is a very fine meal.
- Marley StellmannSeptember 19, 2014Awesome Long Island gimlet. I hear the cheese curds are pretty great too
- The trout was better than the burger. The drinks were perfect, as was the decor.
