Lovely stay and conference at The Royal York. They cateredwell for my dietary requirements and the gym is well equipped. Breakfastavocado on toast was delicious as well as the homemade granola
The hotel entrance, reception and green room look amazing. Our room was ok but there was an awful sewer like smell in the bathroom and the hallway. Food was ok but not excellent.
No Air-con in rooms but I suppose that's not necessary up north normally. Really gorgeous architecture though and good breakfast. Parking is charged, which you don't find out before you arrive.
Very close to station. Decent if not exactly inspiring hotel generally. Breakfast ok. Rooms at front have views of York Minster and city Walls. 5 mins walk from town centre.
Two reviewers thought the toilets looked "spectacular". I didn't see what the fuss is about.... Commode is common looking. I guess the sinks are exciting???
Don't stay here. I end up doing it once a year and it is always awful. This time I have single beds, no double! The Marriott is so much nicer and virtually the same price.
