The Ship is a tasteful basement speakeasy that's hidden behind a inconspicuous black door at 158 Lafayette. I recommend their off-menu drink that's similar to a Dark & Stormy called New Orleans Buck.
Super dramatic entrance through an unassuming entrance into this great subterranean bar. Expertly mixed cocktails from Little Branch alums. Recommended!
Little Branch owners' cocktail spot that's perfect for a date perched over the bar on the second floor and good for group in their big cubby tables. Bartender's choice, or anything with scotch.
My first ever bar experience in NYC. Love the tunnel like entrance which feels subtly mysterious. Great side selections. Also they mix nonalcoholic cocktails for my nonalcoholic friend
Great open space with delicious cocktails courtesy of the people behind v small bars lower branch and middle branch. You will barely see the hidden door so keep a lookout but def make a stop 🍸
Get the Virgo Sun, created by Karen Jarman (once of PKNY), it's delightfully boozy and sweet with orange. Rittenhouse rye, montenegro, maple lemon, served on crushed ice.
Underground dives with cocktails that keep things classy & refreshing. Try the one with gin and grenadine or ask the waitresses for their suggestions. Awesome space, and can't wait to try their food!
Quiet, pleasing atmosphere perfect for holding intimate conversations with friends or s/o. I got strawberry mojito (not on the menu) but all drinks sound great!
Drop your anchors here. This ship makes unique twists on familiar cocktails. You'll feel like you've entered into the hull of a ship where drinking fancy cocktails is encouraged.
Well-crafted cocktails by fun and knowledgeable bartenders. Go with the bartender's choice and have them craft the perfect cocktail to your liking. If you're hungry, order the sliders.
More ice than drink, though the staff is friendly and it's an interesting ambience. Truthfully, there are many other, better cocktail bars/speakeasies in NYC.
Solid drinks + atmospherr. Bartender will solicit your fav drink ingredients and whip up custom cocktail for you! Also, gotta steal the awesome metal stirrers/straws, shhh. Hot mezcal drink = yes
You're looking for a little black door next the back entrance of the Mondrian Hotel. Once you get past the dramatic entrance, order a bartender's choice. Choice of liquor, fruit or spirit forward, etc
My favorite cocktail bar in the city. Go off menu and let the bartenders convoy something special for you. Also try the brussels sprouts - they're wonderful.
I went with "bartender's choice" for my cocktail, saying I love my drinks a little spicy and a little sweet. The caipirinha he gave me was absolute perfection.
O captain, my captain. Typical above avg speakeasyish cocktail bar fare, with a nautical tinge (upside foghorn lights). Positives are the location and that it's not super popular (yet)
