- Erik CintronJune 23, 2015What a fun time here, free tastings, fun beer. Brewery tours!! They make root beer too. Gift shop is amazing. They don't take themselves seriously and that's the best part. In Maine must do!!Upvoted Oct 5
- Katy WAugust 7, 2014Super dog friendly! Everyone who works here was so sweet to my dog that he didn't want to leave! In addition to sampling Shipyard we also tried Sea Dog and Eli's sodas.
- Greg GSeptember 4, 2014Came here for a tasting. Kind of strange - do some samples as they tell you about all of the beers, and then let you go back to try them all. Favorites were Pumpkinhead, APA, Export Ale.
- Village VoiceSeptember 7, 2011Shipyard Brewing Co. will be sampling beer Oct.15 at The Village Voice's Brooklyn Pour Craft Beer Festival! Check out more info at our website: http://ow.ly/6nNID Read more
- JasonNovember 16, 2013If you're short on time, do the Allagash tour. Much better. Whomever the gentleman was that had been working the afternoon of Nov 16, did not do a very good job of the tour and was a bit rude.
- RachelAugust 10, 2015They don't offer tours on the weekends, but the samples are great! The servers are very informative and there is a large gift shop.
- Jon DarveauJuly 2, 2015Lots of cool merch to buy, these guys have some of the best labels in beer so get some gear! Beer gear!
- Ryan WarnerJanuary 19, 2014Bear, the tour guide, is awesome. Great tour and tasting. --And all the staff is friendly and accommodating.
- Andrew SlossAugust 23, 2013Why are people complaining about free beer? What are you communist? Sheesh! Enjoy the tour and FREE beer, IT'S FREE! Sign up online for the full tour
- HeatherOctober 19, 2020Both blueberry beers are incredible and the staff is super friendly. We even got a free beer!
- Make sure you check out the free brewery tours! It's a fun place with a great view of the harbor. (not to mention the gift shop has some cool stuff too!)
- Carla JeanJuly 23, 2013Everyone knows Shipyard. They do tours (not very thrilling, though) and you can sample both the beer and the Cap'n Eli Sodas.
- Nicholas GlassJuly 8, 2013best Maine Souvenir shop I went to all week. Good balanced beers... The Average American palate doesn't like balanced beers. So you've have been warned!
- Great quiet spot just off the main drag with lots of Shipyard & Sea Dog on tap.
- Kelly WallSeptember 10, 2014This was one of the best brewery visits ever. The tasters are generous for a free tour.
- Will ZSeptember 11, 20204 oz pours for $2 is the move (they’re served in the same glasses as the 5 oz flight pours)
- Tony WoodJanuary 27, 2014Bear runs a great tour, and do not miss the Prelude Bourbon barrel aged special release, fantastic!
- Brent SmithAugust 17, 2014Great tour. We did the first Thursday tour they have done and it was great!
- Jenna WhiteSeptember 8, 2011It's a video tour (which happens to be more about the business than the beer) rather than a tour of the brewery - if you want to see a brewery, Allagash is close by and offers a real brewery tour.
- BrianneJuly 7, 2012The tour is short, you only see the bottling room for the most part, but you get to sample like 8 different beers at the end!
- Carm PAugust 7, 2013Nice tour. Great beer. Really great people. Must stop for anyone's brewery tour!
- The beer scented candles are great. Once the candle burns out you still have a pint glass.
- Great merchandise. Virtual tours are daily. The live tour is Tuesday by reservation. It books up well in advance.
- Cyndi HoweySeptember 10, 2012Great beers. From IPA's to Dubble Stout. Taste tested them all. Cool gift shop also!
- Maine Foodie ToursDecember 19, 2012Check out the gift shop and try free beer samples. I recommend the Chamberlain pale ale!
- As a beer snob I never realized how English Shipyard was in their brewing until doing the tour.
- Big ZeeAugust 3, 2013Tour is just a short video at the top of every hour, but plenty of free beer tasting afterwards!
- National Car RentalNovember 15, 2013A very popular brewery in the area - be sure to take the free video tour! Cheers!
- Dana DAugust 23, 2010Skip the tour, pop into the shop and put together your own six-pack sampler. Great Signature Series brews if you want a bigger and bolder.
- Jared GellerAugust 31, 2014Tour guide is super energetic! Beer tasting is free, but beer isn't very good.
- KaydeeJuly 19, 2011Didn't feel authentic. This large brewery is overly commercialized and hawk merchandise during the "virtual tour" (you only get to briefly see the bottling room). At least you get beer at the end.
- Jake SmithAugust 5, 2012Grab a six pack of Shipyard Pumpkinhead to save for those lonely, non-autumn months.
- Christine ShultzSeptember 16, 2011Definitely abrasive tour guide ..... From yelling to the guests like kindergartners to checking the ids of senior citizens!
- Doug RayJuly 15, 2012Skip the tacky shops in the Old Port and come here for a better souvenir of Maine like some Pumpkinhead.
