- Christina OlenickAugust 30, 2014The southern style meats are amazing! (Try the brisket) but even better the people that work here are awesome and they always have the tunes bumping! Love it!
- Kareemah BattsAugust 15, 2014I love getting my meals in the bowl, and combined meats. Don't get a soda. Get one their homemade drinks they are the best. I have never met a happier staff in the heart of the city.
- Winner! It's like a fancier Chipotle with smoked BBQ meats. Their meat guy comes from Salt Lick near Austin, TX. Try different combos of meats and toppings with the "charred" hot sauce.
- The pork shoulder and the brisket are both awesome, but if they have the pork belly as their weekly smoke, GET IT! It's so amazing it should seriously be on the menu full-time.
- Amber LunaDecember 15, 2015You can't go wrong with a brisket burrito. Everything is always fresh and I can honestly say after having a burrito from Tres Carnes I don't go anywhere else.
- Ryan KimApril 25, 2013Get the brisket duh. But also get in a bowl. That way you can taste the meat individually. This place is light years better than chipotle and also better than dos toros. But the line moves way slow.

- Michael SinenskySeptember 22, 2013Owner's Tip:1/2brisket,1/2 chicken burrito w/green rice, black beans, pico, guac, green & xxx hot sauce, lil' crema, lil' cheese,& squeeze a lime. Wash down w/dark & smoky michelada (spicy)
- Ryan AmbsJanuary 11, 2015Still deciding if I can cosign this place. The burritos are distinctly different from anything else you'll get in NYC, more barbecue than spice. Pretty damn good but different enough to think twice

- L 2KSeptember 2, 2013Vegetarians: eat here! The green poblano rice and beans are cooked in vegetable broth. Try a rice bowl with the street-cart corn and roasted squash.
- Tim SheyApril 26, 2013If you choose to eat here, just half a block from a Chipotle, just know you're funding the opening salvo of a full scale burrito war that could have untold effects on NYC.
- MarcApril 17, 2013Tasting Table says: Fast-casual "Texican"; Menu features slow-smoked Texas salt-and-pepper brisket, chicken adobo, pulled-pork barbecue, smoky guacamole and a churro doughnut
- Chipotle on steroids. If you asked for mixed meats you usually get more food. If you want something lighter you can ask for greens instead of rice.
- AustinApril 19, 2013Awesome flavors. Brisket is a must. The taco portions were TINY though. Not near enough meat for the price. Bowl is the move to make.
- Mike FriedlichDecember 5, 2016Brisket and chicken bowl was good (brisket was good, though I couldn't really taste chicken). But it was too expensive, & although a bit better than chipotle, all these places taste the same
- KendallMay 11, 2013The brisket tacos are amazing. Don't overload them with add-ons, this isn't Chipotle. The guy running this place knows what he's doing, I promise.
- Lea CeasrineNovember 19, 2014The poblano rice bowl is so yummy, they added free squash and corn. So much healthier than chipotle.
- ChelseaJuly 11, 2013New York Magazine Cheap Eats issue recommends the Brisket Burrito ($8.73) at this new Tex-Mex joint where Chipotle meets Salt Lick.

- Sigalle BarnessApril 20, 2013The beef brisket is amazing - absolutely get a taco or rice bowl with that. Guac and chips was nothing special. Staff is super friendly!!

- Dina RughaniDecember 2, 2014Get the pork. All the meat is smoked giving it a more dimensional flavor than chipotle.
- Joanna SmithJanuary 3, 2014The brisket is deliciously smokey. I would never think to add squash to a burrito, but it really elevates it.
- Tom MialeApril 18, 2013Brisket is the way to go, but leave room for the INSANE churro donut with smoked sugar.
- Get the chicken, with some quac, the meat is smoked... So good!
- @JaumePrimeroMay 9, 2013Once you come here, you'll never waste your time at Chipotle again. Tres Carnes is a temple of burrito amazingness.
- raul gutierrezAugust 17, 2013Two A+orders: Brisket + yellow rice + poco de gallo taco, Chorizo + green rice + chilies
- Matthew PMay 5, 2013Ripoff of Dos Toros, but better than Chipotle. Food is good. Customer service sucks. If the sign says you open at noon, you open at noon, not 12:15pm cuz I see your family eating inside. #LostBusiness
- Courtney NJune 19, 2013They were playing the jams there tonight! Fugees, Pliers, Bob Marley... Definitely fits the whole vibe.
- This is a good place to eat. I recommend the brisket burrito 2x with an apple soda.
