Picnic Point is toward the tip of Governors Island. It indeed is a good spot for picnics. You’ll have a great view of the Statue of Liberty from here.
Plenty of trees that offer shade here. Lots of grassy area for a picnic. Great spot for a leisurely walk.
Grab the Brooklyn (Red Hook) ferry here. The Wall Street ferry is here too & leaves every 19 & 46 of the hour.
