Buy ticket online and avoid long lines even before ship opening. I was on board before ticket windows even opened for those who didn't buy online.

An awesome but pricey tour. You enter a life sized retired navy aircraft carrier. You have to pay for parking also but it gives you access to nearby park and venues. Top of the ship has aircraft

Don't bother paying for the parking at the museum. Drive further up toward Coronado and there is metered parking lot where you can get three hours for $2.50

Get there early, so you have lots of time and wear shorts, if you can. It gets HOT on the lower decks.

The USS Midway has been turned into a floating museum and it's really cool. They keep opening up new sections of the ship, so I've been three times and each time there is something new to see!

Midway was stricken from the Naval Vessel Register in 1997. During the decommissioning process, she was used to film portions of the documentary 'At Sea', showing at the Navy Museum in Washington D.C.

Do the free "island tour" and then on the flight deck listen to "the trap" aircraft presentation by a retired pilot. Look out the planes you can climb into!

Make sure you start your tour of the Midway early in the day. It will take you most of the day to properly visit the entire ship.

Commissioned in 1945, USS Midway (CV-41) was an aircraft carrier of the US Navy and is the only remaining aircraft carrier of the WW II era that is not an Essex-class ship.
