The garden is lovely especially around Iso Residence with nice Japanese styled landscape and the view of Sakurajima. The garden next to the mountain is a real gem of moss garden and countless waterway

Make sure you take the trails up to the waterfall viewing and beyond! It's 700m to climb, and the steps are "rugged", but the views are unparalleled.

Set aside 2 hours to explore the Senganen Garden which used to be home to the Shimazu clan. If you can, climb up (many steps!) the mountain to the waterfall panoramic viewing point. The view is lovely

Fantastic Japanese Garden with significant influence of ancient China. Worthy visiting. Great view for Sakurazima Volcano !

Make sure to check out the orchid whose flower bloom only once in 50 yrs at Sengenen.

【国指定名勝】…『仙巌園(せんがんえん)』、別名『磯庭園(いそていえん)』…薩摩藩第19第当主島津光久によって万治元年(1658)に造園されました。桜島を築山に、鹿児島湾を池に見立てるという広大な借景技法が特徴です。

せんがんえん。入場料1,000円。19代薩摩藩主島津光久が築いた別邸。敷地面積5万平米、幕末から近代の文化に触れられる。桜島を築山に錦江湾を池に見立てた借景庭園が見事。
