A must-visit location if you’ve never been. Entry fee via ticket purchase inside the mall. Make sure to go when it’s a clear day (or night!) — the view of Taipei, like other Asian cities, is amazing!

Taipei 101 is the most touristy thing to do in Taipei for NTD600 per person. Get the best view of the city at the Elephant Mountain instead, it was a steep hike but the most breathtaking skyscrapers.

(On a clear day) the observatory provides you with quite some scenic views of Taipei. Don't forget to check whether the outdoor observatory (91st floor) is open. The damper is fantastic too.

Amazing ! Don't forget your camera ;) and make sure you check all three floors 88, 89 and 91 (outdoors so it might be closed in case of bad weather, you can see if it's open when you buy ticket)

Worth the trip up. The fastest elevator, the view, and the wind damper are worth it. Go during a weekday morning to avoid the crowd and tourists.

They turned their earthquake dampening sphere into a tourist attraction, and turned it into a character mascot called Damper Baby. If you can’t appreciate the genius here, don’t come.

Wait for a clear day to really get the best value. From here you can appreciate beautiful Taipei nestled amongst the forest mountains. Be prepared to be walked through lots of shopping "opportunities"

For a free alternative: make a reservation at Starbucks on the 35th floor. You'll be closer to the ground and see more detail. No outside observation deck though.

I'm not a big fan of observatories, but if you're gonna do it, do it at sunset so you get to see the view in the day as well as at night 👌🏽

It's a must-visit in Taipei but it's not any better than other observation decks. Better to visit during the day because Taipei city lights are not impressive enough to see in the evening.

Exit is through the damper room—so take your time upstairs and don't worry about missing anything (but prepare for the Damper Babies video to make your heart explode).

You'll probably get dizzy from how quickly the elevator moves. But don't let that make you forget to send a postcard home when you're at the top!

Head on over to Elephant Mountain for arguably better views. Just take the Red Line from Taipei 101/World Trade Center station to Xiangshan station.
