meggieApril 21, 2010江戸城（現皇居）の内堀に造られた門の一つで、国の重要文化財。第一と第二の門との間に桝形の四角い広場がある桝形門としては、現存する中で最大規模。小田原街道の始点にあたり、かつては小田原口とも呼ばれた。寛永13(1636)年に修築され､大正12(1923)年の関東大震災で破損した際、鉄網土蔵造りに改修される｡ 安政7(1860)年に大老井伊直弼が水戸浪士らに殺害された「桜田門外の変」で知られる。Upvote11DownvoteUpvoted 1 week ago
