"大手門を北西部から防御する櫓。名称は石山本願寺を攻めた信長軍にとって難攻不落の櫓がこの付近にあって「落とした者に千貫文与えても惜しくない」といったことに由来するという。元和6年（1620）造営、昭和36年（1961）解体修理。"
