There are restrooms and coke machines. Nice to have lunch at open space. However, be careful there are many wild birds which attack for food.

緑豊かな公園。園内には源頼朝公の銅像があり四季折々の草花木を楽しむことができます。近くには国史跡の化粧坂や銭洗弁天等もあり見所も多いです。

源氏山は、奥羽を舞台とする後三年の役（１０８３～１０８７年）で八幡太郎義家が出陣するときに、この山上に源氏の白旗を立てて戦勝を祈ったところから「源氏山」とか「旗立山」といわれるようになったといいます。区域内には源頼朝像や大小の広場などがあり、桜の名所にもなっています。

浄智寺から長谷に抜けるバイキングコースの途中にあるが、銭洗弁天などからほんのちょっとだけ外れてるので観光客だと意外に行く機会がなくここの源頼朝像も見たことある人、少ないのでは。
