NaoMarch 26, 2015国指定名勝(平成21年)。別府地獄の中では最古。アクセスガイド：車移動でない方は、JR亀川駅からタクシーがお勧め。所要時間は15分弱、料金￥1,000程度で到着します。 別府地獄巡りは、ここ血の池地獄と間欠泉のある龍巻地獄を観光してから、（予め時間を調べた上で）路線バスで鉄輪バスターミナルへ。そこから一番山上の海地獄へ向かい、次に山地獄、、、と下りながら観光するコースが効率的に廻れます。
Upvote15Downvote- NaoMarch 26, 2015血の池地獄は約78℃の熱湯ですが、適温に調節された足湯があります。足湯の湯に褐色の古い10円硬貨を漬けておくと、みるみる内にピカピカの10円硬貨に。強い酸性の湯であることが伺えます。
