"開港広場に地球儀の形をした日米和親条約調印の石碑が建っています。説明文⇒『安政元年(1854年)2月から3月にかけて、日米代表が横浜村の海岸で会見、和親条約を結んだ。これは、神奈川条約ともいわれ、日本の開国を促し、本市の誕生の遠因ともなった。歴史的舞台となった応接所のあとは、現在の神奈川県庁の付近である。』"
