Well designed building: a lot of light and open spaces. Comprehensive history of Korea through archeological artefacts. Pottery and traditional painting on upper floors. Free WiFi.
The building is huge and architecture and space is beautiful.😃 The museumexhibits are ok.🤔 Very old school and traditional. Look and read mostly. Not much interactivity and multimedia. 😔
Archeological museum of Korea. Free admission for the ordinary entrance. It is huge so leave home early if you want to master the museum. They have a nice park for family picnic outside the building.
A remarkable venue where viewers see and feel Korean history and culture for themselves. With a wide variety of exhibitions, other facilities and foreign-language information, access is easy for all.
Nice museum for free of charge. Why do museums always make you pay extra to see the mummy exhibits of Egypt? Used the museum's brochure to take note of the best items in each room. Rainy day activity
Huge, beautiful and modern museum. The special exhibit was less than $5 to get in and the rest of the museum is free. The only downside were loud, undisciplined children everywhere!
It's hugeeee! Unestimated how much time can spend there as well as the park and a Hanguel museum nearby too. 3rd floor is interesting especially the Korean Buddhas
Floors are made of wood so if you wear heels, they make loud clip clopping sounds as you walk which might disturb other visitors. And it's REALLY loud, especially when everyone is being silent
It is not as boring as it sounds. If you want to see and hear about Korea in more detail, National Museum of Korea would definitely be a perfect choice. By the way, admission to the museum is free.
Open: Tue, Thu, Fri: 9:00 - 18:00 Wed, Sat: 9:00 - 21:00 Sun&Holidays: 9:00 - 19:00. Closed New Year's Day, Every Monday (When Monday is a holiday, closing on the following day)
Get there via the Ichon Station (Seoul Subway Line 4 & Jungang Line), Exit 2. The subway is connected to the museum via an underpass called 박물관 나들길 or Moving Museum.
Actually the area around the museum is not fully closed during night time! So I definitely recommend to experience everything in darkness and enjoy romantic atmosphere.
English language tours meet at the great hall entrance at 10:30 and 14:30. The highlights tour is a fantastic way to see some great pieces with context, without being overwhelmed.
This place is HUGE. You can do it quick, but you can't take it all in if you do so. The Korean history is a major part of this museum, but they also have great traveling exhibits. Read more
