Ask for a "Garden Room" table when making your reservation. At lunch, enjoy a more relaxed dress code, 25¢ martinis, & the classic 3-course menu: turtle soup, quail, & bread pudding soufflé. Amazing!
The best restaurant in New Orleans!! Everything we got was delicious...You must get the pecan pie and bananas foster. The steak and shrimp meals were out of this world!The gumbo was fabulous as well.
Might be a tourist trap but the food is delicious. Get the turtle soup and any creole entree. Bananas foster and chicorycoffee for dessert. Head through the kitchen to check out the garden out back.
Come for the vibe and era. Wasn't as impressed by the food. We got the shrimp apps, gumbo, ham and bone soup, white bean soup, and beef tenderlointostada. The bababreadsoufflé was amazing tho.

Visited on 11/18/2018. This was a very enjoyable experience with incredible service that is like a well choreographed ballet. I enjoyed my Sazeraccocktail and Waygu beef.
If you like lobster bisque, get it. Best you will ever have. The soufflé and chocolate top hat are deserts worth every calorie. Also ask to be seated in the Garden Room. Beautiful ambiance. Enjoy!

I didn't have an amazing experience at Commander's, but it's an institution. Jazz brunch is an experience, but if you're already doing Preservation Hall you can skip it.

Eating here was near the top of my bucket list and it did not disappoint. Splurge and get the chef's table. The restaurant itself is almost as beautiful as the food. Easily the best meal of my life.

Their soufflé, gumbo and seafood are definitely worth the short ride from the French Quarter. Better reserve ahead of time. If price is an issue, try it for lunch.
Incredible service. Try the turtle soup, the all of our entrees were fantastic, drink an Evening in Barbados and have Creme Brûlée or the Bread Pudding Soufflé for dessert.
the wait staff is SO attentive and nice. you will never hD an empty glass of water. beautifully decorated indoors. ask for a walking tour map for after!

The bread pudding is bewitching. Delicious food and drinks (get here for lunch for the 25 cent martinis), but mind the dress code or they will not let you in: no shorts or t-shirts, no sandals on men.
Feels unnecessarily stuffy with their dress code, given how outdated the decor looks. Jazz brunchmusicians don’t play consistently, they only played a few songs. Food is good not great.

Saw some guy not being let in because he was wearing shorts. Who goes out to dinner in shorts and a Tshirt. Grow up. Food is excellent. Got the pork belly and soft shell crabs.
