20-30min. train trip from Lisbon to Sintra. Absolutely beautiful and definitely worth it. The gardens are like a maze! Take a map and make sure to explore the caves too!
Great Landmark, awesome time out with family. Stunning views & fun whereabouts (incl. the caves) within the properties. Caring Staff, big thank you to Bruno Cardoso First Aid as kids felt down ...
This place is absolutely worth a visit because of its gardens. Take about 2 hours to explore them. It's only a short walk from the historic center of Sintra so no need to take a taxi.
Excellent place for children and adults. Don’t forget to install the application or pick up an audio guide. Attention! Excellent time killer. You can even forget to watch the time.
one of the most astonishing experiences of my travels - I cannot really describe how magical this estate is. Get yourself a great guide or a book because the story of this place is amazing!
Plan to spend at least 2 hours wandering around the most wonderful and quirky garden you will ever experience. More quirky than Park Guell in Barcelona maybe.
Awesome place to visit, specially during hot days. Very cool, with plenty to see, even if you just want to stay in the gardens. They should ask for money (tickets) and use it for some renovations.
Secret passages, beautiful mansion, Dante's inferno realized in a well, definitely one of my favorite places in sintra. Would revisit with kids. They would have a blast
Nice old house. The really magnificent thing is the garden with its many hidden paths and stairs leading up and down the hills, little grottos like secret paths, stunning plants...
Come get lost in the mazes, the subterranean well and the rest of the merriment. Pro Tip - ask the front desk for a recommended route to navigate it best!
What a strange, mystical places. Watch out, it will take some time to explore all the bits and pieces. But it's worth it. Surprises after every corner.
Sintra's answer to Disneyland. Expect: beauty from a far... concrete structures up close. Visit: The InitiationWell. Bring: a flashlight, spare socks and a camera.
Disneyland for adults. Bring a picnic and someone who likes you for who you are as a person. Impress them with fine champagne, jewelry and fast cars...and this place.
Underground grottos and alchemy influenced architecture. Little scary and on the dark side, but great design and implementation. 100+ pages of drawings and 12 years of work.
Probably the best site of interest in Sintra. Def must! Do it and Montserrat, then can skip Pena and Sintra Royal Palace in town. InitiationWell is amazing
Bring a flashlight or cell phone if you wanna explore the labyrinth grottos!! Incredible grounds, worth a few hours of wandering down any path you find...
