Iceland’s oldest fast food stand. The hot dogs are made of lamb meat with pork casing, topped with a combination of raw & fried onion, ketchup, mustard & mayo-relish rémoulade on a homemade bun.
This modest hot dog stand is famous for a reason. Delicious & unique (the dog is mostly lamb). Order up, take a seat at the picnic table, and rest your dog in the whimsical attached holder. So fun!
Hotdogs with everything for 420 kr. This is basicaly a hotdog on a bun, with 2 sauces on top, and some crunchy onions under the hotdog. There are wooden benches outside for seating.
One of the “cheapest” meals in Iceland. Made mostly of lamb in a natural casing. Get it with everything, it’s delicious. There tends be to a line but it moves quick.
The famous Icelandic hot dog - great snack for 400 Kronas. Order it with "everything", but it doesn't mean it'll get overloaded. Essentially crunchy onions + special sauce
Decent hotdogs I guess but I don't know if I'd say it was good. Especially if you compare it to an American hotdogs. Definitely not as good as Pink's. On the level of 7-11 or Costco hotdogs.
Blah blah blah "with everything on it" -- That's all you need to know. Also, expect to visit more than once because 1) cheap 2) good 3) open late 4) cheap
How can you go to Iceland and not try their famous hotdog stand? The original outlet is the one near the Harbour. I like mine without raw onions and more fried onions.
famous hot dog stand. The hot dogs aren't big so you can have at least 2. Their sauce and crispyonions make the hot dog amazing. Hot Dogs are made of lamb btw.
Good cheap option in Reykjavík. Open late. Hot dog w/everything (remoulade, mustard, ketchup, raw onions and fried onions) is the specialty. Hot dogs aren't very big, so you might need more than one.
You wouldnt say it is so amazing just by passing but, as soon as you take the first bite you will be mesmerised. The caramelized onion and that sauce...One was not enough :)
Their hot dog has been widely touted as the best hot dog in Europe and been sampled by Anthony Bourdain, Bill Clinton and Madonna. http://chewsy.com/r/a/LeiWV Read more
Read a lot about those hot dogs before getting here - maybe it was the high expectations but didnt find that the best hot dog ever. Was good but nothing special.
Get it with everything. The crunchy onions rule, and even if you don't normally like condiments (like me) you'll lovvvvve this pylsur with everything. Trust.
It's all right. As I'm from Canada, to make a hotdog amazing takes more than onions and honey mustard. It was a good hotdog, but doesn't live up to the hype.
