BYO jewel, no frills. Order from the Traditional Sri Lankan and Apollo Banana Leaf Special menus first, with a stringhopper fry (fried chopped noodles) or kothu (fried chopped paratha) for ballast. Read more

Authentic Sri Lankan food in a rainforest, overlooking a waterfall (sort of). Tasty, cheap and BYO. What's not to like? Full review: http://scofflondon.com/restaurants/apollo-banana-leaf-review/

Ignore the slightly dated décor, this place is the real deal. Food is so good. Be careful with the crab masala though, THE messiest thing I've ever eaten.

Best curry I have had in London. Distinctly south Indian which is great as this is similar to Durban curries. Mutton roll starters are an 85p treat

One of the cheapest and best meals I've had in London. Try the Mutton Kothu, just don't have it on your own (it's BIG)

It's got notably awful service but that's part the experience. Authentic food. Book ahead. Great dosa and byo!

Fairly average tasting food set in poor surroundings with matching service. I won't be back.
