Kopi. Locals in neighbourhood zoom in on Nan Yuan Beverage #01-12. Owner/chief barista has an uncanny skill: he takes orders of 4-5 customers, makes all drinks, & serve them in correct order!
Yuan Linoodle is my favorite. Eating this noodle reminds me of my childhood days. Be prepared to wait though on Saturday of up to 30 minutes. I think the shop is closed on Sunday.
Lor Mee ($4). Fu Ji Mei Shi 福記美食 #01-19 is popular for this dish. To me, it’s a basic preparation. The “lor” (gravy) lacks aroma. I didn’t hv any fish bits
Wantan mee. Nothing noteworthy fr Keng Lock #01-32. Char siew (BBQ pork) slices were butchered. Wantans were haphazardly made. Saving grace was the soup :-P
Fishball noodles. Unimpressed with bowl from Yuan Li #01-25. Fishballs had too much water, can't sense any fish flavours. Fishcake slices were overly firm. Overall offering lacked aroma or flavours
"Xiang Ji" Chicken rice ranked 7th out of 10 nationwide for "Best Hawker Chicken Rice Stall"Keng Lockwantan mee. though waiting time varies from 10mins to 45mins. worth a try.
Supposedly best Chicken Rice is really just average, and the Kway chap that recently went on television tastes plain as hell. Overall, a HUGE disappointment.
