My first visit to this historic city and I will be sure to come back. So much to see! We walked for miles, visited many shops, eatieries, took advantage of bus system and water taxis..just wow!
Love the historic district. But damn does it get hot and humid. Probably why it's one of the few cities in the US where you can walk around with a cold beer.
Savannah's recorded history begins in 1733. That's the year General... James Oglethorpe and the 120 passengers of the good ship "Anne" landed on a bluff high along the Savannah River in February. Oglethorpe named the 13th and final American colony "Georgia" after England's King George II.(Show more)
