Negotiate the horse carriage prices to lesser than half before getting on the horse. And all the pyramids in the area are walkable. As the 'guides'to cut the bullshit when they say u can't walk.
No, Napoleon Bonaparte didn't shoot off his nose, but yes the head looks smaller than the body so maybe there was originally a larger head that was re-carved into what we see today?
Just say "no thank you no". To all the camel and horse scammers. They may take pictures and say is free or also free ride saying "pay what makes you happy" be careful. But nothing to worry about.
It is really amazing to see. My advice to you is to go there at winter not summer due to the scorching sun and sunburns many will try to sell you stuff and make you ride for money.Enjoy.
A must see in Cairo! Be prepared for the people trying to sell you things. It’s quite a walk from the pyramids, so make sure you have good walking shoes if you’re not driving or taking a horse cart
James Bond attempts to make contact with Aziz Fekkesh in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), but he is spooked by the imposing figure of Jaws when he is illuminated in front of the great sphinx.
The mosque of Mohamed Ali in #cairo_egypt ,it's a coppy of the blue mosque in Istanboul . Must to see when you #travel_to_egypt www.egypttravelgateway.com info@egypttravelgateway.com
Two camel guys stopped agresively our car 2km before pyramides, wants to sell us camel ride. We did not had any peace time there, like mosquitos for our money, finally some camel for 15m cost us 300.
The sphinx of Chephren was made to be the guard of his pyramid behind . unfortunately the nose is broken the larger part of it is in the British museum and the smaller part is in Cairo museum
Difficult to get a good photo with all the posers knocking about. You'd think they were on a catwalk with all the pouting. Be patient. Face of the Sphinx is badly weathered and smaller than imagined
Odyoo Egypt Favorite: The Sphinx is a lot smaller then one would think. For the best photos you will want to shoot from the right hand side after you pass by the "Tour Guide Well".
AWFUL!! Egyptian would be great, but in side of foreigner, i was really disappointed and seek of people who tend to observer as a peddler. They steel ticket and beg for money. I NEVER wanna go again
Before entering the main Tourist Area of the Sphinx, venture to the opposite (right-hand) side for the perfect place to take a quietphotograph. Or, try a trick photo!
