agree with other tips, the chicken rice next to the western food store is delicious, better than the other chicken rice store. always add 50¢ more vege instead of the $5 set meal. add the sauces too.
I prefer the yummy lor mee next door stall #01-153. The gravy is nicely cook, fresh ingredients, self serving for top up of vinegar, fried garlic, chili and tau geh is super fresh. $3 only 😄
Went for the longest queue this time - Soon Heng fishball noodles (01-152) and it did not disappoint! Queue was fast moving (15 mins) and almost sold out when it reached me (8.45am). Come before 9am!
Hainanese Curry Rice. This is considered a pork chop “set” from #01-173. $4.50. Curry was tasty. Cabbage well-stewed. Pork chop was lean but not crispy. Overall plate tasted cold, even at lunchtime
Toilets and washbasins are all the way at the back of the building, past the wet market. There are basins at the food centre (next to #01-145, a pair next to #01-146)
Fishball noodles. The fishballs from Soon Lee #01-184 were made with more water; can't taste fish. Overall noodle bowl was decent with minced pork & a 'her giao' (fishdumpling)
take awayfish soup, requested not to have spring onions and parsley only. this is what i get. $8.40 for two bowls of 5 slices of fish in each bowl. only got home to realize.
Teochew fishball noodles. Unimpressed with 60s Teochew Fishball Noodles #01-161. Not a fan of canned button mushrooms. Fishdumpling “her giao” overcooked. Clear soup. Nice touch with fried garlic oil
take awayfish soup, requested not to have spring onions and parsley only. this is what i get. $8.40 for two bowls of 5 slices of fish in each bowl. super not worth. only got home to realize.
Quite good char siewrice. Very flavorful. Was supposed to come with bok choy 🥬, but got a side of broth instead 🤷🏻♂️? Possibly my error when ordering. S$3. Will come here again.
Wantan Mee. Neighbours say Hup Heng #01-182 is comparable to Kok Kee. I disagree. Still a decent plate. Sauce mixture was light but lacks aroma. Char siew slices extremely tender. Wantans were pillowy
Roasted meats. Unimpressed with Mei Fong’s #01-181 offering. While roasted chicken & pork were competent, the preparation lacked finesse & aroma. This plate $4.50
Soon Lee Fishball noodles is pretty good. I like the extra dry and spicy noodles. The texture of the noodle is just right. Not soggy within minutes, unlike a lot of noodlesstalls.
Fishball noodles: Xiang Yuan #01-148 was worth d queue. Fishballs were chewy. Noodlewell cooked & springy. Chilli was sweet & punchy. I'm coming back for this!
I am so blessed to be staying so near this hawker centre! From kway chap, laksa, wanton mee, duck noodles/rice, chicken rice, fish soup to prata, etc! Countless of good foods! Fill with choices!
Try the western food beside the Pontian wantan mee and the duck rice opp the western food stall. On the same row as Pontian wantan mee, the corner stall that sell soya bean n grass jelly is nice! :)
Indian Store Sells Really Nice Foods . Very Hearty Servings . Esp ChickenFried Noodle! The Malay Nasi Lemak Store Is Also Gd ! Really Tasty Aromatic Rice W Chicken For $3 !
Mi chiam kueh (local pancake): D peanut filling was ok (it wasn't warm). Coconut filling was spread too thin (cos' theirs is a rolled-up pancake). Both batters were sticky, making them hard to chew
Try the Paris western. My experience is not as good as others. We ordered chicken cutletpasta and chicken chopfried rice. Pasta is so so. But the chicken is not bad. The portion is quite big. 3/5
Patronize Heng Heng BonelessDuck Ricestall only if u're ok w/ super f**ked up service. Made eye contact with the aunty, wanted to place my order, yet she ignored me. Perfect, she just lost a biz!
