Take audio guide. If you own a museumkaart or go with a group, you can enter in a special entrance (ask staffs for location). You can save tones of time by avoiding long queuing line.
Anyone who doesn't know much about art should visit this place, you'll appreciate some of these pieces of art. The free wifi is an added bonus. Also the souvenir store ships world wide
And to the last place I leave the most obvious. It's mandatory to see how important van Gogh was to the world of painting. All his great artworks are displayed here.
the absolute best time to go is on friday evenings when it is less crowded w music playing, a wine bar downstairs and an interactive video installation playing...fantastic
This place is incredible! A must if you travel alone or with the family! Vincent is a truly master! The way he expressed himself through painting is remarkable!
Great selection of Van Gogh's great works. But if you want to see Starry Night, go to NY! Also, don't get caught taking pictures of the paintings! Nasty female guard on 1.
Really well laid out exhibit, really glad I didn't miss this one. The line for tickets is long, but if you have the museum pass I think you can skip it.
Lots of van Gogh's and his contemporariespainting, including some of most famous ones. Tells the story beyond paintings - also his life. Avoid long queues with a Museum card.
A little pricey to get in but well worth it if you're a fan of Van Gogh. This museum allows you to see the progression of his color palette and techniques over his life.
Art lovers you will love this place note:skip the linesbook online add the multimedia for a full experience ++ the museum's restaurant has the best tomato soup
Buy timed tickets, even pre purchased tickets line is quite long. Don't even think about linking up for tickets at the door, unless you have lots of time to stand around!
Here you see the paintings by Vincent Van Gogh, organised chronologically, and also his letters, painting instruments, short biography, and other related things. About two hours to visit. 15€.
Van Gogh had an interesting life story -- decided to become a painter at 27, dead by 37 -- and this museum does a wonderful job showing his life and art side by side.
Don't come if you're trying to cram it into a packed day, it's easy to spend 3+ hours in here, it's so wonderful. I recommend checking out the bookstore at the top of the museum!
The temporary exhibition "when I give I give myself" makes it even more interesting. Take the audio guide and expect to wander around for at least 2-3 hours.
The starry nightpainting is NOT here. It has been in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York since 1941. You can buy Van Gogh's jelly ears at the gift shop.
It's a great place to view many of Van Gogh's early works and the progression of his style over years. Unfortunately it doesn't have his most famous paintings like The Starry Night.
Smart traveller, it's better to buy tickets online on a web-sitebefore the visit - when you come you will stay in a shorter line. If you haven't prepaid tickets just come up earlier... at 9:30 ;)
On the third floor, tucked away in a corner, is the book shop. Up the back is a table where you can sit down and read Vincent's prolific set of letters.
A museum that tells a story of Van Gogh's life through his letters, very nicely organised. The Starry Night is lacking, of course, but there's more to Vincent than that.
Book tickets online! Good museum for Van Gogh lovers. Don't waste your time if you know nothing about him. There are nearly no prominent works and photography is forbidden
